You are one sick puppy.

You sure get triggered easily, Karen. Pobrecito.

I have never seen an electric car on fire. Seen plenty of gasoline cars on fire, though.

You haven’t watched the news much then.

I guess we Canadians are just not scared enough.

We all got bored to death sitting on edge waiting for

something to happen and never does. You wouldn't

like it here in Canada, there is no gun excitement here.

I wouldn’t like Canada because people like you live there.

What's left of this old heart is shattered.
I had to put my 2 pound, 17 year old Yorkie to sleep today. Give your pets an extra hug tonight. Can't say more because it's hard to see what I'm typing when my eyes are raining.

We had to put our 16 year old toy poodle Sweet Pea to sleep 2 weeks ago. It just about killed us to do that, but we didn’t want her suffering. She had a wonderful life with us though.

GREAT NEWS!

A year and a half ago I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. After three operations and treatment (and six months out from the last operation) I went in today for a checkup. As of now, I am cancer free. I had been dreading this appointment.

What a great way to start the New Year. Praise the Lord.

Poor little Karen. So misunderstood by his betters.

This is my first year living in Idaho Falls. Throughout the other times of the year the city goes all out with decorations making this city a pleasure to live. For Christmas near the actual Idaho Falls near Broadway Street, there is a park where Christmas lights abound. I have wanted to take some night photos but the temperatures have been down in the single digits at times. Not my idea of a good photographic experience. But last night the temperature rocketed up to 34 degrees. Now that works for me.

The woman on the bridge with the dogs graciously allowed me to take her photo as I told her I really needed a human for the photo. Very nice lady.

These photos are the first outside Christmas photos I have taken so please be gentle with me. Any suggestions would be welcome. I hope you enjoy the photos.

Okay from the looks of it this canyon--Bull Trap Canyon--has been around for at least a couple of years, but evidently it's been just beyond my wandering range, though barely. It's difficult to reach but then you can explore for a long way in either direction. I headed south because it hooks up with another canyon and the topography looks promising, though I didn't get that far; on occasion I remind myself of my age, the season, the length of the day, and the fact that I have a tendency to really hurt myself. So this hike, out and back, was just over five miles, enough to get my feet wet except that there was hardly any water. I set up a trail camera and got a few photos along the way. I have more dramatic ones on my phone, so there may be a second post.

In the near future I hope to approach this area from the south, where the elevation is lower, and head north. There was a beastly climb and descent of a ridge which I'd rather avoid. We shall see how it all lines up. Anyway, this was my Christmas gift to myself and there is much more of it to open.

I wish for all of you some very fine adventures in 2024.

Yes, I have. Significant. Fellow joggers can defend it 'til they're blue in the face, but I don't spend nearly as much time as I used to. As a matter of fact (I can't believe I'm saying this), but after 7 enjoyable years I'm slowly losing interest in the forum. I know, I know...who cares? I'm just saying.

As am I. I used to look forward to the digest, but not so much this new look. I just don’t look here as much anymore.

My wonderful wife gifted me with one of those "smart watches" for XMAS.
I have spent more than a few hours working on it, put the app on my "smart phone", connected the watch to the phone, turning on certain features at the watch, learning that some features can only be set using the phone. This thing is confusing as all get out to me, I have eight "dumb watches" that I rotate wearing as it is. When and if I ever get this watch figured out, it may well be on my wrist the majority of the time, just to prove to family and friends that I mastered the evil thing. Hope everyone else also had a Merry Christmas!

I picked up an Apple iWatch Ultra this year because I have fallen a few times, and the watch will send you a notification asking if you’re ok, and it also contacts emergency services with the location if needed using the Apple iPhone satellite service.
