Beautiful, I think that's the deepest blue I've ever seen.

Thank you.
That was shot with a D70s which always had the best color saturation right out-of-camera despite being a 6mpx sensor and before Expeed processing.

Thanks everyone. I uses lot of vintage glass and I know that that D800 series had a motor in the camera that would work with my glass.
Does anyone know if the D750 had an internal motor?

All Nikon bodies, with the exception of the earlier D40, D50, D60 and all the D3xxx and D5xxx series bodies, have the focus drive motor in the body. Which means they can auto-focus with legacy AF-D glass as well as the AF-S stuff which the smaller bodies need to focus. Nikon does not make a dslr full-frame body that does not have the screw-drive motor since full frame is the same size as film and you want to use that older glass as well.

If you own a D800 how do you like it?

What is your plan for it? The 800 series are serious bodies that require an enhanced shooting discipline and skill sets.
I use mine primarily for fine art landscapes. I print panoramics at home framed out to 40". Bought it in mid-2015 refurbished for around $1700. It was my Holy Grail and I have not been disappointed. I do night work, portrait work and this winter I shot snowmobile races on the frozen lake. 6 hours of run and gun on the ice and snow with the battery grip pack and a 70-300 VR AF-S. Never missed a beat and the resolution allowed me to get some really sharp tight crops of the drivers as they approached head-on at 40 mph.
My history is to use a body for a little while and move up to something with some improvements that make sense and dollar-sense. 3mp to 6mp to 10mp to fx24mp and now fx36mp. The D800 however, will be my daily workhorse until it can go no more and then I will probably replace it with an 810 and that will be due primarily to the absence of the anti-aliasing filter in the 810 like the 800e and I am already kitted-out for it with accesories.
It just plain and simple works.

I have a D7100 and your IQ will be significantly better due to three factors - a 24 mp sensor vs 12mp, no anti-aliasing filter over the sensor and later generation signal processing. The other thing which makes the D7100 attractive is it's price which is less than half of what it was new. But if you really want new, the D7500 would be worth waiting for.

I have bought two refurbished cameras from Cameta and I have had no regrets. Both cameras came directly from Nikon and were in the branded Nikon Refurbished boxes with all the accessories expected. They also put together little packages with some other items that compliment the camera for a nominal increase in the price.
I have purchased misc gear from Adorama with full confidence. The warranty is sweeter with Cameta though.

Thanks all. I was pretty pumped when my editor called. A long 3 months to finally see it in the bookstores though.

So cool; congrats! (I'm originally from Bangor area )
Well, like my parents, they too moved to Bremerton after us kids left the nest. Came back to Maine after a couple years. I have a couple cousins still in the Port Ludlow area.

Echoes Magazine is published in Aroostock County, Maine focusing on rural lifestyle and history of Maine. They are published quarterly. I have been published a few times in the past by them having my pictures used to illustrate their stories or poetry. This is the first time I was offered the front and back cover for last years summer edition.
The image is a sunrise on South Branch Lake not to far from where I live and the view from our camp.
The cover image is a little light due to being a scan.

TJBN - just checked amazon and the first book listed first guide book shown for the Nikon D750 is David Busch's at $19.99 and several other authors in similar price range as stated in an earlier reply.
Don't understand why these books are not showing for you.

I saw the same thing. The $19.99 one is the abbreviated Field Guide to the big brother full manual. $499.99 and up is criminal in any case.

Looking for a recommendation on a decent book on the Nikon D750. Wanted to go with the David Busch guide, but it is no longer in print and listed at a ridiculous price, thanks fellow Hogs.

Thom Hogan reviews and does guide books on most of the models out there. Here is the link. Appears to be an ebook and a printable pdf.
