When Judy's 'Creative Landscape' came up on the calender, I figured that I would sit this one out. Then my 'imp' spoke to me. Some people have muses; mine is something quite impish.
The offering below is not meant as a serious entry to be compared to those posted by serious landscape artists. It's basically a concept piece for which my attention was focused on texture and form, a practice run of sorts. That's why you see wide stripes in the sky.
This was just a notion that I started playing with a couple of decades ago, and, then forgot about.
The top pic is a panorama of a golf course, made with 20-some stitched panels that span about a 160 degree turn. It's aspect ratio is 10:1.
To get the 'Dr. Seuss' look of the bottom pic, I resized to the Golden Ratio (1.618:1). Actually, 8:5 is close enough for government work. Any ratio that mashes the horizontal and stretches the vertical will do.
So, with this narrative I hope that the picture is explained.
