Looking for a recommendation on a decent book on the Nikon D750. Wanted to go with the David Busch guide, but it is no longer in print and listed at a ridiculous price, thanks fellow Hogs.

I have "NIKON D750, The Expanded Guide" by Jon Sparks. It has been a helpful addition to the User's Manual. I don't remember it costing over $25.00. I haven't looked at any others to compare.

Those of you who have been following along today probably know what I'm gonna say. TJBN - Amazon lists any number of books on the Nikon D750. The authors include: Darrell Young (recommended), Douglass Klostermann (ditto), Rob Sylvan (ditto), John Sackelmore, (David Busch ($19.99 in spiral bound format, no less - doesn't sound too outrageous), Jon Sparks, and Rob Merkins - just to name a few. Amazon is my first choice for books on many subjects. Good luck. /Ralph.

I saw the David Busch book on the D750 at a local Barnes & Noble store just the other day.

Thank you CK and Ralph. Just a quick FYI "David Busch's Nikon D750 Guide To Digital SLR Photography" is out of print and list's on Amazon for $499.99 through a partner and that is the lowest price among their sellers. Thus my inference of a ridiculous price.

Checked online, no local B&N's showed the book in stock.

Thanks Ralph, I had checked on Amazon, just was hoping for some consensus on one of the choices, since the majority were not sporting any reviews.

"Not sporting any reviews" TJBN - There are ample reviews of several of the authors I mentioned on Amazon and elsewhere. Young, Klosterman and Sylvan all have Author Pages there and frequent reviews on line. B&N's extremely limited supply renders them a poor choice for purchasing books, unless you happen to stumble over something there. Note that I have no personal affiliation with Amazon; they are simply the most reliable source.

I am sure the authors you sited have been reviewed, I just did not find reviews for most of the books on the Nikon D750. I'll take a look at individual authors and see what is said about their work in general. As for Amazon I have found it a good source overall having purchased previously a few books on my D5100. Thanks again.

I have the Rob Sylvan book on the D750, not loving it, though it is an OK companion to the factory manual. I have a Busch book on my D7000 that I prefer slightly over others I have seen and own. OK book, but not the holy grail. It all boils down to: maybe no book fits anyone perfectly. You have to spend lots of time reading whatever book you purchase, along with the factory manual, until enough info sinks into the brain, and fits into your style of shooting. Then you are ready to go beyond the book and use those tools with your own brain to make art! Enjoy, the trip can be as much fun as the destination.

Darrell Young's book is EXCELLENT. I have a hard time with David Busch's but not so with Darrell Young's

TJBN - just checked amazon and the first book listed first guide book shown for the Nikon D750 is David Busch's at $19.99 and several other authors in similar price range as stated in an earlier reply.
Don't understand why these books are not showing for you.

Thom Hogan reviews and does guide books on most of the models out there. Here is the link. Appears to be an ebook and a printable pdf.
