My wife and I will be spending 4 weeks in Deerfield Beach, just to the north.
Catchlight- you are a true dreamer!
Realized that I misspelled "Pompano" Beach. Sorry!
I only use teleconverters with prime lenses, not zoom lenses.
The teleconverter multiplies problems that the lens already has,
and zoom lenses usually have a lot more problem areas than prime lenses.
Looks like Pampano Beach, Florida.
And there we have it- the eternal divide-
those who try as much as possible to create the best possible image in the camera,
with minimal "computer work" required,
versus those who look to get a "basic" image in the camera,
and then love to do a multitude of adjustments with the computer.
Sony is the number 3 brand in worldwide sales.
It will be interesting to see how their future plays out.
For those who scoff at the company in number 3 position...
just think of the car companies.
Thank you, that one works!
Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I'm referring to walking into a local "bricks and mortar" location,
with (hopefully) somewhat knowledgeable staff.
I realize that such locations are largely a thing of the past.
The https://photographylife.com/glass-vs-resin-filters%3E
link no longer works!
Where I live, with most camera bodies, the "kit lens" is included.
You can choose to leave it in the store, but it is included in the price
of the camera.
With high-end camera bodies, you just get the body, no lens included.
Good point- all you have to do is look at the abysmal quality of the
"Kit Lenses" that all manufacturers seem to include when you buy
the camera.
Personally, I think that an upgrade to better quality lenses will do more to improve image quality
than a body upgrade.
Currently, the highest rated lens in the world is the new Sigma 85mm, f 1.4.
Using 2014 sales in the USA:
1. MacDonalds (35.4 billion)
2. Starbucks (12.7 billion)
3. Subway (11.9 billion)
4. Burger King (8.6 billion)
The most popular place MUST be the best quality! Or is it?
Do you live your whole life this way?
Whichever company sells the most product must inherently be the best quality?
I suppose that is one way to decide what music to listen to,
or what restaurant to eat at.
