The reason for all those Canons is because they were available to rent as no one buys them.....lol

Maybe it's because you need really deep pockets for the Canon L lenses? -(the 400mm f2.8 costs best part of £10K!) but then you do have to pay for quality. Because of this most can probably only afford to rent, but these photographers obviously only rent quality!
Sorry to burst your bubble, my enthusiastic friend.
If you go to the website
www.dxomark.com which independently rates camera sensor image quality (and also lenses)
you will discover that they have tested 336 cameras.
Of the top fifteen cameras they have tested and ranked there are six Nikons-
in positions 2 (score 97), 5 (score 96), 7 (score 95), 8 (score 94), 9 (score 94) and 10 (score 93).
Sadly there is only one Canon (the 5D Mark IV) in position #15 with a score of 91.
By the way, the current top ranked camera is the Sony A7R II in position #1 with a score of 98.
Their is a old saying,"A fool and his money are soon parted? Mack.
I purchased a Canon EOS D70 excellent camera to start shooting in manual mode.
This company knows how to provide a great product and service.
I returned another brand N registration was bad from day one. I had to call for my code for their video on how to use the camera. Sent me code and had to email me another one.
The unit had no USB or HDMI cable to upload pictures to laptop or to tether.
Tried to buy cables or extra lenses they were out of stock.
Canon all cables provided Software included even to tether. Lenses I buy vintage and adapters. My pictures look great manual focus. I don't bother to alter in post.
I now have 4 of the EOS line for a collection to display. I have a great collection of vintage lenses and cameras. Waiting for more adapters and time to shoot with other lenses.
Trying filters for sunrise and sunsets my cost is very low so far. Shortly off to another flea market Wed morning.
Great to start learning the exposure triangle, rules of thirds, location, and composition.
CMan1, Not getting into the age old discussion of what brand is besr, bu curious as to where you bought the Nikon. I ve purchased several Nikon products over the years and was never shorted anything. Perhaps you ran afoul of a grey market seller. In any case a warnogn to fellow Hogs wold be appropriate. Whatever you shoot, there is lots of good stuff on the UHH. Happy shooting!
The unit didn't offer cables everything included was in the box. Purchased kit Club store new.
The new Canon EOS M5 could be the way to go.

If you read the article they own their own gear, Canon will service it there on the spot and provide loaners as well. The broadcast lenses were used on the TV cameras and I would bet those were owned by the user as well.
And who can doubt praise of Canon from "Canon Rumors"?

And yet this just shows that these kind of so-called independent rankings are out of touch with the real world. You have the rankings and then you have what actually happens in the real world.

I think those are what are known as "alternative facts". Hahaha.
