it is a boiler with the sealing doors removed. the outer chamber is most likely coal fired and the holes u see cucurlated water to make steam used to power other equipment.

this was made on a scanner bed, i sometimes leave artifacts to provide visual clues.

the problem with nuclear energy in the USA is that it was put in the hands of private for profit industry. Three Mile island was caused due to the lack of feedback on a critical cooling valve position to save money. Operators did not understand that the indicator on the control panel only showed that the valve was told to open, not that it was really open. Blame the bean counters.

Chernobyl was a political issue. Operators feared reprcussion if they aborted the test.

Fukushima was hit by a tidal wave and critical cooling pumps could not operate under water.

We were told in the 1950's that power would be so cheap homes would no longer have power meters and in the 1970's that a serious event was 1 per 100 years lol.

The Japanese got what they deserved and the bombs saved more lives that they took. Is that a horrible thing to say? Yes...but true.
