In October of 2009 my wife and I were attending a Lighthouse conference in Alpena, Mich and I saw exhibited there a picture of this lighthouse. I took a map and we decided to visit the new day. What we didn't know was you had to drive to country road 412 which was a two track road 25 miles north of Paradise, MI. It had snowed the night before and there was a storm coming in from Lake Superior. When I tried to duplicate the picture I realized the lighthouse and shore had been restored by a lighthouse preservation group. This is my favorite picture taken by a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5.

We stayed in Wilmington, NY for a week and our favorite diner was the Country Bear Diner and Bakery. This area is near Lake Placid where the 1980 winter olympics were held on this same mountain.

The motorcycle is parked down below out of view. About 4500 ft above sea level. The bike almost over heated on the way up. You climb up the rocks on the left side via the hand rails to a viewing area.

Route 86 Wilmington NY Roads and River damage is normal after large rains and storms due to rock formations.

Adirondacks 2011

Rode up the mountain June 2011 on my Goldwing 1500 with my wife. Road was full of potholes with no guard rails.
