I bought my Fuigifilm Finepix HS30 EXR for $250 at Costco mid-December and have been firing away ever since. It has so many features to learn and the way for me is to use it. So far, I have no regrets and have filled the 8 gig that came with it and am on a 32 gig Sandisk. It has done well from indoor available light w/o flash on EXR auto to moon shots AE/Program and bracketed and numerous candid Grandson pics, all handheld. The IS is necessary at longer tele and works very well. It's hard to tell these from my tripod shots of the moon. I am finding limits on exr in bright sunlight with high contrast, but learning a new dance with this partner. I bought 3 extra Wasabi batteries with charger from Blue Nook through Amazon and with a click on special offers received free s&h code to use on checkout for $37; less than the price of one Fugi battery, and they're all China production. They are fully decoded Japanese cells and have a three year warranty. I have now run all through charge/run and recharge cycles and they work fine
