Getting down to the wire to select my new camera, and wondering about this. I want to be able to quickly view images on my iPhone and/or laptop. Plus I want to be able to use my iPhone for remote shutter release (or have a remote with the camera). I briefly owned a Sony RX100V and was pretty unimpressed with their Play Memories system. I assume the aR7II I'm considering would be identical. So any of these other cameras have better connectivity software? Thanks for the inputs.

I have the Sony RX100 II and love the camera. Connecting to WiFi is not easy.

Have connected with a Canon 70D and it was easy. Currently using a Canon 5D Mark IV and it’s fast and easy. Use the WiFi to download pictures to my IPhone plus take pictures with Canon while controlling it with IPhone. I only shoot raw files and there are no problems with the files on the IPhone viewing or sharing them because of their original RAW format. Many times I just upload the pictures to ‘Cluster’ and family members have the pictures immediately. It’s fast and easy for my use. Plus family members aren’t asking ‘When do I get to see the pictures’

My main use for a washer would be to wash the cars and to give the house a cleaning once a year.

Thanks! Good luck with the cleaning! Growing up in Pittsburgh, I remember how filthy our cars would get in the winter because of the snow and salt/cinders. Please be careful with the amount of pressure you use!

Jerry ,
What are you planning to wash ? At 1,900 psi you’ll be able to do general surface cleaning . However for a concrete walkway for example , with a lot of discoloration from mold etc., I would recommend at least 3,000 psi for easier removal . Not sure if that psi rating is available in an electric motor model .

We have a gas pressure washer that’s great, but if you are cleaning concrete you may want to try wet and forget. We have a lot of concrete around our house and if we didn’t have time to clean the concrete it cost $700 to have someone else do it. Someone suggested I try Wet and Forget so we tried it. Washed all the concrete with dawn and water. Let the concrete dry and followed directions for Wet and Forget (mixture of product and water goes in garden sprayer). It doesn’t clean it immediately - mold and dirt turn the top a rust brown dirt color - but give it a month and it’s white as can be. They say you can do it six times a year, but mine has lasted 2 years. Leaves fall on it and discolor the concrete - then after the leaves are blown off - poof it turns white again. We will just spray it on again this spring for the 2nd time -no need to wash again.... 40 years of dirt and mold are gone. Everyone asks how we keep it so clean and white. Ours didn’t streak like pressure washing can either. May not work for everyone, but it sure did make my husband a believer! Costco - Lowes - Home Depot usually carry it in the spring. If you try it, just remember to be patient..... it takes time but once it works - hopefully you will be happy.

Thanks for sharing. We used to have Golden Retievers, they are very special dogs! We had two litters of 9 puppies and kept one of the puppies from the first litter. Whenever I see one now, my husband says I have to have my ‘goldie’ fix because I go up and pet them. Before we got our First Golden one of our friends told us this and it is so true ....‘I’ve had 5 Golden’s and they all have been completely different but they all have been fabulous’.

OK, I can't think outside the box here, so can't figure if this was real or not. There is a whole webpage on Facebook for the photog. Here is the funniest comment on the page. "I’ve been looking for a photographer that brings talent to the shoot. We wanted our family to look freshly embalmed. Lesa is amazing!"

Enjoy...

Thanks for reading! Appreciate your comments. My family would probably have a field day of crazy comments and say it was worth the 200+ dollars for the entertainment factor.

Thanks for reading. Hopefully a hoax! Unfortunately, nothing surprises me anymore but surely I’m hoping this can’t really be true and is successful for just having people/ online photo sites talk about it. I’m still in disbelief myself! I wouldn’t have posted if I hadn’t seen photography sites talking about it.

I’m hoping it’s fake and just a post to give something for humor. I cannot even imagine handing those pictures to someone with a straight face. Before I posted the links I looked for something to say it was not true but didn’t find anything yet.

Thanks for reading.

I'm sure anywhere you go you will find wonderful things to photograph. My suggestion would be if you are driving (from Maryland) to take the route through Asheville NC where you can visit Biltmore and take a day to shoot in the Smoky Mountains which are close. Then I'd drive to Charleston SC. There will be lots of beautiful things to photograph along the way and probably places you will want to return to at a later date. If you are flying - Southwest has direct flights to Charleston from Baltimore for a reasonable price if you book early enough. Believe me - you will never run out of things to photograph in the Smoky Mountains or Charleston. We have a farm that looks at five ranges of the Smoky Mountains and I have taken pictures of the mountains for almost 40 years. My husband always asks - "you need another picture - it hasn't changed" and I always tell him it's just too beautiful not to and the sun is just a little different on the mountains! Then we both laugh! Charleston has Revolutionary War history - Civil War History - great city to walk in - great beaches (Kiawah - Folley - Isle of Palms) - Plantations to visit - Ave of the Oaks at Boone Hall - ladies making sweetgrass baskets - great golf courses and the spring home and garden tour may be going on..... and the list just goes on and on. We have a condo on the beach outside Charleston with some partners and have been going there for over 40 years and always see something new! If you end up going to Charleston, go to the visitors center and watch the $2 movie. It gives you the a little 'fly over' of Charleston. We took our grandchildren to see the movie last week while we were there last week because when they visit our condo they always want to go to the beach and since it was a little colder this time they wanted to know a little more about Charleston. We have a self walking tour book (you can purchase at the visitors center and my husband keeps it in the car always) and we used it to walk the grandchildren down the 'battery' and I took pictures of the Christmas doorways, gardens and church steeples! The restaurants are great also.

If you can find tickets to the Masters - go to the practice rounds preferably Wednesday - the par 3 tournament. I'm pretty sure the practice rounds still let you take cameras in even though the main tournament doesn't. I have lots of great pictures from the practice rounds and par 3 tournament.

Wherever you end up going, I hope you have a great time and get wonderful pictures and hope you will share them!

In a March 2017 ‘Ask Roger Email’ that was sent to Lensrentals client list, below is Roger’s answer to a similar type question. ‘Roger’ is the founder of Lensrental. I think he’s familiar with quite a few of the different cameras.

Q. I'm going on a 4 night, 5-day hiking trip, and want an upgrade from my iPhone photos from last time. What would be a decent camera that's lightweight with a good battery life? I used the panoramic feature on my iPhone a lot, so if the camera had that built in, that'd be a bonus.

Roger’ Answer:
A. OK, good battery life I'm going to fudge on: if you're going for 5 days and won't have recharging ability, then substitute 'spare batteries available' for good battery life and things get a lot easier.

I love the Sony RX100 cameras. They're on V now, I own a IV myself and haven't felt the urge to upgrade yet. It's tiny, has great image quality, a 24-70mm zoom lens, good video, built-in WiFi if you want to share the images, and has a panoramic mode. One note on the latter, you have to use a little better technique than the iPhone, but the image quality is worth it.
