My hope for a moonset at sunrise photo op was again thwarted when the full moon disappeared behind pink clouds well above the horizon line for the second month in a row. So I used my only shot from December to create these composites.
btw, one benefit to going out for a sunrise/moonset opportunity is then you are... out at sunrise
I did this composite when I was learning Photoshop. I don't do many photos of the moon or composites.
Thanks for posting, Rick. Your super eagle shot makes a very eye-catching combo with the daylight moon.
I don't generally have enough creativity (or patience) to do composites, but I found by using the entire image (with my sky and clouds), and then different layer blend modes, I could use it more as a texture than a straight composite. The only drawback to that is I don't think I can change the size of my moon unless it's a separate object, but I'm researching.
I am grateful that you shared these. They are strikingly beautiful. Gives me ideas thank you.
Thank you very kindly! These were done differently than a straight composite, and first time I've tried this way.
