Mine was just over the trees just after it popped up with a full image, very low in the sky, at about 15 degrees up. I used a Nikon D60, 500mm mirror lens with Vivitar 2X Extender, about f16, 1/200th, ISO 800. This Super Moon isn't much more special than the regular Moon. Lots of hype on this Moon. This is actually in colour, it was orange like I wanted, but in spite of the settings, it came out like this. I have an 8" Reflector Telescope that can get much closer but it wasn't worth the effort to drag it outside. I tried two doublers but I could not get enough clarity. Nyms

To answer John F's question about the reason for the name Brownie... Cameras used to be big and bulky. George Eastman used the name Brownie after a series of children's stories about brownies, a sort of tiny, grumpy, elf type character. His new, small box camera used his new roll film, which, at the time was not making professional prints like his pro glass plates did, he thought perhaps children and amateurs would not be so picky over the quality of his new 'snapshots'... To attract children, he named the little cameras Brownies, and had a cartoon picture of one on the side of the box, using a new Brownie box camera. The first ones took 100 round photos. One would then send the entire camera back to the factory to be reloaded with new film, along with their round images on a square of photo paper. Except for having no viewfinder at all, and many 'heads were cut off at the top' the camera was a complete success. The tag line for a Kodak ( that's what everyone called them...) was 'You press the button, we do the rest'. The End. Nyms

There is a guy on ebay named HolgaMods, and he has a 3D printer. He makes all sorts of spool adapters to fit modern film, usually 120, into the larger size obsolete films, if anyone wants to try using your ancient cameras. I bought some, a four piece set, so I could shoot 120 in a 116 Autograph from about 1916, and a 116 box Brownie, about the same age. The adapters were only about $20 of so. Of course, one has to experiment with the little red window because the numbers on a 120 don't line up. But I did about three full turns till I got to about #6, then about 2 1/2 turns for the rest. There is only about 7-8 pics on a 120 roll but the negs are really long, almost panoramic... Some negs were butted close to the next one, but it was worth it. Photos were beautiful and those old cameras make timeless style images. Nyms

I'm using the Wolverine 2D Mighty, which I paid about $120 on Amazon. I'm not selling it but you should try it. It does negatives, slides, in 35mm, 127, 110, and 8mm film. It doesn't do 6x6 but I use the light table/digital Nikon for that. Quite a unit. Amazon has the best price...on ebay some are $250...wow..!! Nyms

If it's a fairly good point and shoot there should be a setting in the menu. Nyms

Here are some of my Civil War shots from a Payson, AZ, reenactment. These were shot with a 1961 Yashica D on frozen Verichrome film, tinted in Photoshop. Shooting these reenactments is amazing...the men are always happy to pose and you learn so much. Nyms

In New Jersey go to Morristown and Jockey Hollow, where the Tempe Wicke House is... The surrounding areas are all George Washington Headquarters and war sites. Near Totowa, I think, is the Dey Mansion, another wonderful site. at 199 Totowa Road Wayne, NJ. Nyms

"Reduced to dust..." Now he should be ordered to glue the dust back together and restore what he has ruined. What a selfish person. (and religion) Nyms

I've used Adorama for years and they are great. So is B&H. I done some with Cameta and no problems. These three are not really the cheapest but as mentioned above, cheaper is often a nightmare. Adorama has an ebay store as well and is sometimes cheaper because of free shipping. You might have a look there for what you want, just in case... Nyms

That's why I mentioned an Image Stacker. You stack up shorter exposures. I'm trying to do all this by memory...haven't done it for awhile.... I've used my Ftn many times.... don't buy another body if you already have them.

I have an 8 inch reflector telescope that's 6 feet tall. Narrow field of view. About the widest it can do is two widths of the Pleiades. You need a motor drive to track things...the moon will blind you without an ND-2 or 4. For wide field, usually people want the Milky Way, a camera is much better. But know that anything longer than about 30 seconds will start to smear because of Earth's movement. Simply take multiple exposures and download an Image Stacker for free. It lets you stack multiple images, like 30 or more, of the same view, and it shoves them into alignment. This lets the intensity build up just like a 20 minute exposure, for example. I've used a 300mm old Nikon lens, and sometimes with a 2x extender...or a 500mm mirror....contrast is added in Photoshop, etc. But you'd be amazed what you can get with a 50mm..... Nyms

I use a tiny brush/circle, about two widths of the circle, next to what I want to get rid of and I don't get any weird smudges or anything. But your way sounds like a good way as well. I do short steps and if one is odd looking I can just CTRL>Z and do it over. Nyms

It certainly tells a story in two shots. Don't be sorry unless you saw this and the camera was in the car. Nyms
