Ran across this most interesting fellow while out walking an urban walking/biking trail. Note, he even had his quadcopter just in case he wants to take a 'selfie' from 20,000 feet.

I recently bought a Fuji GSW690 iii film camera. The 65mm wide angle lens is a slow f5.4. (In a 35mm film camera comparison, that 65mm lens would equal to the angle and coverage of a 28mm lens.) Some of the shooting I want to do with it will be in not so well lit interior. The hot shoe on the top of the camera has a single contact point that centers between the mounting rails. What brands of swivel and tilt flash units might work with this camera? I'm also going to be using Alford Delta 3200 speed b/w film, so the flash unit should be settable to this quite high ISO setting as well.

Please suggest usable used units that I might shop for on eBay. Your thoughts will be most appreciated.

Thanks you.

Love those large (probably 4x5) negatives that have been scanned.

Well, I,m 75 and my wife is six months older than me. I laughed out loud. I'll show this to her when she gets home. Don't know if she'll laugh or cry.

Now I always feel bad when I see a young person smoking. I smoked from age 16 to 62 with a quit at around 28 years of age that lasted 1 ½ years. The worst of it was that I am a woodwind musician and lost a lot of lung capacity before finally kicking the habit in 2002.

So did you make a wish and blow out the candle after taking a picture of it?

Love your pano's. They are superb.

Do you by chance recall what color film you used? I'm asking because I just purchased a Fujifilm 'Texas Leica' with a wide angle 65MM lens (equal to about a 28MM length lens on a 35MM camera body). I enjoy digital, but really like going back to my learning years which were with film. Right now, I'm going to learn how to use this much larger film format camera by shooting b/w, developing it in a daylight tank and then scanning it to accomplish basic post processing on my Epson V600 scanner.

It seemed that all of your basses are fretless. Although I'm not a bass player, I really prefer the flexibility and improved tuning that a fretless bass offers.

Besides being classically trained, I'm also an improvisor and player of jazz. My stint with Stan Kenton probably suggests that as being part of my playing skill set.

Yours truly,

Richard Bush

I started clarinet when I was nine. Got private lessons so that I could later join my father's professional dance band after learning a bit of saxophone. Went to college and got a degree to teach instrumental and vocal music education at the secondary level. Did a six-week tour with Stan Kenton in 1969. Learned to play bassoon and make reeds for it. Became a wind instrument repairman, including specializing in bassoon repairs and rebuilds.

Have been an amateur 35MM shutterbug since 1967. I'm now expanding my film interests by moving into medium format film formats, combining my 'old' film interests with more recent digital shooting.

I also like to veggie garden and do garden-to-table cooking.

I would like to converse with any UHH member who uses or has used the Fuji 6x9 film camera, particularly anyone who has experience with this rangefinder camera that was offered with the 65mm wide angle lens.

You can either post here on UHH, or send me a private message about your experiences with it.

I am interested because I am interested in buying such a camera. This camera is often called the Texas Leica. One of my biggest questions is about the optical quality of the 65mm lens. Will this give me landscape pictures that match or even come close to matching those that would be taken on contemporary medium format digital cameras?

I look forward to hearing from anyone who owns or has had experience with this largest format film camera.

Very nice. While I have and shoot digital cameras, I also still shoot with film. And also, like you, I use an Epson film scanner to bring my analog images into the digital world for processing. Right now I'm experimenting with pushing a roll of Delta 400 to an ISO of 1800. I will develop it in a one-shot solution of Alford DD-X. The 35MM camera I'm using is a Pentax Spotmatic F and the lenses are the open aperture screw mount Asahi Lenses that were introduced to be used with that camera type.

Please post more of your b/w pictures. Your Jeep picture was enjoyed by many of the UHH members.
