A couple of ideas:

1. Set a goal to take at least one photo a week...it can be anything, inside, outside, etc. Don't limit the subjects.
2. Pick a subject and create a collection of similar images...LR collections is a great tool for working on this area
3. Set a day and time for each week to spend 30 to 60 minutes on post processing. If you have key wording capability in your post processing app, then go through images and add key words.
4. If you have multiple lenses, then pick a different lens each time you go out for a shoot and only use the one lens. Start with the lenses you don't use very often.

Or, maybe continue to give it some time and maybe and "aha moment" will pop up and you'll grab your camera.

Enjoy and have a good time.

With one of our Goldens, we would cut up hot dogs and push his allergy pill into it. He typically swallowed the bite whole and never had a clue that there was a pill involved.

When I think about the time and effort photographers like Ansel Adams used in the true dark room days to adjust prints, I can't imagine that in today's world, he wouldn't have been a PhotoShop expert.
Give him a digital Fuji or Hasselblad medium format digital camera and the world would continue to be his oyster...

My work has improved a lot since I moved to Olympus M43 gear and switched to manual mode with the histogram turned on in the viewfinder. It helps to expose to the right as well as see when the bright areas are blown out.

Just back in from shooting in the fog this morning on the Oregon coast and a number of times, changed camera angles, zoom range etc. So at almost 75 now, still learning and adapting to my cameras capabilities.

A very good read. We have had a number of Goldens that crossed the rainbow bridge and are currently head of heals in love with a beautiful black labradoodle.

In regards to your question, "What is the guy thinking?" you have to back up and consider that anyone who is accused of domestic violence is not thinking right from the beginning and as actions accelerate the level of critical thinking or 'right' thinking probably declines rapidly.

So someone facing the police response to domestic violence is probably just acting and not thinking at all.

At first, this seems amazing...

This works each year, but only if your birthday has already happened that year.

For example, I am currently 74 + 1948 = 2022. But in a month, I will have my birthday and be 75, so 75 + 1948 = 2023.

I have one SD card that my desktop SD slot sometimes will not recognize. In these cases I plug in an external card reader, insert the card and find that I can then download images to LR. So you might try this option.

I was at Gettysburg last November, cool and overcast. A few ideas to share:

1. There are many attractions at the visitor center, so schedule 2-3 hours for just being there.
2. The total area is significant so to see everything it is really an all day site to visit. (0r more)
3. Take at least a 24 mm lens or zoom lens on the wide end and at least a mid-range telephoto. on the long end.
4. Think about taking some panorama images as well as close up images of details.
5. There are many statues in the park and often they are white stone,in my memory, so you may want to consider bracketing exposures and merging them in post or do it in camera if you can.

There is a sense of spirituality while there that will linger with you. Also, the sense of loss at how so many young people were lost in battle and Civil War.

I have not personally used any of the Leica cameras. I had an opportunity during a workshop in Death Valley so see some images produced by the Q2 Monochrome kit. They were astounding. It has peaked my interest in a monochrome only camera.

As mentioned, do not hesitate to bump you ISO. On several trips to Alaska, British Columbia and even Africa I shot many images with my Olympus EM1 MKII at ISO 6400. The noise cleaned up pretty good in LightRoom and the newer Noise Reduction in LR would do an even better job.

So your 75-300 lens should be fine or alternatively add a 2x TC to your 40-150 lens.

Most of all, enjoy seeing the bear first hand. They are marvelous animals.

I am going to Kyoto in November. Just received an update from out tour leader. The advice is to not take a tripod or even a monopod as many indoor and outdoor garden venues do not allow tripods/monopods and you are then scrambling for a location to 'hide' the tripod while at the venue.

If you anticipate taking shots indoors, then wide aperture lens would make sense. I am planning to take my Olympus 12-100 f4 Pro and a 25mm f1.8 on my trip. If you shots will primarily be exterior shots, then your non-L lenses would probably be good.
