There is a huge logging operation east of Arlington about 30 miles at Darrington, Washington. 30 more miles gets you into North Cascades National Park, this whole area is beautiful.
These are the Oquirrh Mountains, the Stansbury's are west of Grantsville. That said it is still a cool picture.
We had a rabbit that we named Stu.
That area is almost as photo rich as southern Utah, Blue Ridge Parkway is about 5 miles. Lot of water falls, Cherokee, Bryson City.
About 12 miles from Escalante south down Hole-in- the- Rock Road is a small park called Devil's Garden, it has Metate Arch and a few other arches plus a lot of neat formations. It is free and only 1/4 mile off the main road. Further down the road is Dance Hall rock and clear at the end, requires 4x4 last few miles, is Hole-in-the-Rock where Pioneers took wagons down the Hole and crossed the Colorado on the way to Bluff Blanding area.
They are huge arches down in the Escalante river canyon but require some long hikes. Highway 12 east toward Bolder from Escalante is spectacular. Enjoy!

Pentax newbie here, bought a P30t in 92. I have tried to make up for my newness by collecting and have about 70 Pentax bodies from 110 to 6x7. A couple of K-1000's and screw mounts, a bunch of ZX's that I bought to get a lens that I wanted. Some M series including a ME-F and the Autofocus lens that came out in 1981. The lens has 4 AA batteries to run the autofocus. Favorite shooters are LX and K-1. I LIKE PENTAX!
They are both wall worthy, great stuff. I like the Two Medicine Lake area of Glacier as good as any place in the park plus very few people in there compared to the rest of Glacier. I really like Running Eagle Falls too.
I also checked your photos on flicker, you have great shots. Shoot me a PM if you would like to have a shooting partner some day. I often go toward Dugway to shoot the wild horses.
I have shot wide angles without a CPL and had one side lighter than the other. Sometimes that is the way the light is. When I look at your photo in download the difference doesn't bother "me" at all.
This is a really great shot, the beautiful light and shadows really make this a stunner. My shots from there are more middle of the day and not nearly as dynamic. I say enjoy what you have.
I saw White Pockets in 1997 the first time. We were exploring east of Coyote Buttes just taking roads to see what was there. A few years later and a few miles south east we saw a large rectangular opening arch. There is a lot of neat stuff up on that bench but a bad place to get stuck or lost.

I have to give the dead tree a pass this time in favor of the live one. The fourth time I opened #2 I finally saw the road. I really like roads like that and I think my old truck does too.
Try manual focus at about 8-10 feet with say a 50mm lens at f8. It is like not seeing all the little spots on your windshield while driving. Your camera is looking past the close snow flakes.
Great stuff as usual, I remember that mine from when I spent the night out there a couple years ago. I really like the first shot.
