had a similar problem with an Epson printer I did not choose source for color management and therefore the pronter was making the choice,

I have Lightroom classic and notice that in my laptop (windows 10) the pictures i have taken are displayed as cr2 and dng. I am also finding this in some of my LR catalog as well. I am sure this is taking up a lot of room and would like opinions of the benefits of either and which I should use. I know dng can be set at the time of import.

Well after 5 hours of hard work by the expert I hired all is back on track. She took remote controll of my computer with bothe external drives hooked up and going from one to the other found all the picture links and brought it all back in order. the big issue was me I caused this inadvertantly by getting my HDs out of order and my work was devided between the two. So neither drive saw all of my work, and neither coul link completley to my photos. what a big relife.
sure would be nice if some company would do a photoraphy take on the old vietnam era pack with suspenders and bel system. it held the pack at the lower back and belt at the waist all hooked together with suspenders, along with this room to attach other things to suspenders and belt.
well I will keep you all udated at the outcome. I have hired a local business owner who specilaizes in literoom we will be at it on Friday. After hearing what I hade done she is confident that putting both HDs in at the same time she can get both to come together by recognozing one another. Well we shall see.

when I loaded lightroom classic some 1600 photos were missingwere missing. after many agonizing hours and not whanting to use lightroom until issue is corrected, don't whant to mess it up again, I discovered issue. Not sure how to correct this
I have mixed up my external HD and now one drive shows missing potos but lightroom will not make a connection to them. the other HD also had some links to photos missing as well . Is there a way to bring both HDs together so all will be fine and life will be bettter. Thew are WD hard drives.

I had a problem with the last update, lost almost all of the links between catalog and pictures. I could see them in photos but catalog would not. Called Adobe and was sent to a customer service agent and boy was he good reconnected links to photos took him almost 5 hours with him taking control of my computer. Possibly something went amiss with preferences during update. Only problem now need to re-apply names to catalog dates.
Chg Canon thank you, That was what I was doing but will have to recheck windows pictures thought i still saw them there. But just could be some of the photos have been taken twice and that is what I am seeing.
when I am using lightroom and down load photos to my computer the information goes to lightroom and my photo goes to the computer. Is there a way that when I remove the unwanted photo from lightroom and remove it from disk that will also remove it from the windows 10 photos as well, is there a way to link this action?

thank you all, just so concerned about loosing photos, i do use 2 2 tb hard drives to back up entire computer an 2 more to backup lightroom possibly just worry too much.
