Why not teach her with what you already have? Having one of my grandfather's cameras today would make my heart melt. A camera for less than 100.00 may stifle her rather than wet her palette. Or save up to buy her the Sony a6000 which is under $500.00 if she is serious about photography.

The Sony a7sii is at the top of the list for high ISO, shoot 4k video and is very sharp. Check out the reviews and watch some videos on you tube.

This is very hard and I think we have all been through this once or even twice. 1.- look at the competition- what do you have to offer that they do not. Set yourself above the rest. 2.- Do not lower your prices, if you think you are worth that price, leave it alone. 3. Get out on social media, Instagram, Facebook, your own web page. And most of all make your style of photography stand out. Some people want the 10.00 department store shoot ( you know the "sit on Santa's knee" shot) and some want art. Go for the art.

I use Rotolight which you can adjust the temperature of the light for portraits and for landscaping and light painting I use Scott Robert Lim's Killer Video Light.

Several ways. Bouncing, Diffusing, reflectors, have the subject stand further from the background, off camera flash, use 2 flashes, change the direction of the light to lower the shadows to the ground....... You can watch classes on Creativelive.com from Roberto Venzeula "Picture Perfect Lighting" of Scott Robert Lim "Crazy Stupid Light" and others on lighting.

The angle of reflection is equal to the angle of incidence so watch your angles in which you are shooting. Move the camera up or down, right or left to avoid the light reflecting into the lens.

How long have you been shooting? Are you serious about wanting to be a professional wedding photographer? I mean for years to come? What camera do you use? Do you want to be creative or just take snapshots? Do you use natural light or flash, other? Which should you use and why? Do your photos look like those in highly respected bridal magazines? Do you want them too? If this is something you want to so bad it hurts, then you will do whatever it takes to become the best at what you do.

I suggest you read all you can and go back to the basics, work as a second shooter until you feel comfortable with your camera and can move quickly through the settings and understand why you are choosing them. If you want to stay in this business professionally, you have to know your gear. How to, what to and when to use it and for weddings, and be quick about it. A lot of wedding photogs shoot in aperture priority for the ceremony. That is about as automatic as you should be. You need to be in control not the camera, so take that control. Let today be the first day of your new career, take a step back to become the photographer you dream to be. You will be amazed a year from now how far you have come. Never stop learning, practicing and enjoying your dream.

Your flashes are not very strong but if you have time, rent or borrow 2 more flashes. HSS will also help. If allowed, set up a large scrim (bed sheet or sheets) if you can. If the sun is over head have four people stand on something to lift it high enough over their heads or to their side, depending on the direction of the sun. The Scrim will make beautiful light.

The less ambient light, the better. It depends on how fast the subject is moving across the shutter with the amount of light the camera sees. Try this: set your camera so that you have total black exposure. The camera picks up nothing but black. Enter flash. You may have to play with your flash power to get the look you are after. In this case, once the flash goes off and stops, the subject could continue to move but the camera will not pick it up. The subject should be sharp.

Oh and Babcock State Park is not too far away. Check it out as well. If the leaves are peaking, there will be a lot of photographers there.

Capitol Street is a great place to go in the historic area. The river front park, Kanawha state park, Cato park, there is also a nature preserve near by. If you have 2-2.5 hour time span, travel to the New river gorge, Black water falls, or the Cass Scenic railroad. Or just hit a road and go in any direction and you will find all kinds of places to stop and shoot.

The new canon, Nikon 810 or 750 but my favorite is the Sony 7rII with the auto eye focus and focus peaking, there is nothing like it.

I have 3 perfect bags, and it does depend on the gear you are carrying at the time, plus where you are going and the weather. I use Thinktank roller derby when traveling (its airline approved), 2 Epiphanie bags, a small one and a larger backpack type, oh make that 4 perfect bags, I also use a Shoot-it bag while Im actually shooting events like weddings and such. the shoot-it bag holds extra batteries, lenses for quick changes and a flash, my phone and is very light weight.
