A few years ago I got in trouble (and was saved by the doorbell). I had left the gate to the backyard open and was off playing golf. The dogs (2 Maltese) disappeared. My wife searched frantically and could not find them. She called the neighbors to help look for them, one of whom suggested that she ring the doorbell. And the dogs, who had been in the house the whole time, came running and barking.
Apologies, this actually is photography related.
I used to follow the latest in camera technology and drool over how much resolution one could get in the latest cameras from our favorite manufacturers. GAS attack imminent!
Today I read this article
https://www.pcmag.com/news/scientists-snap-largest-digital-photos-ever-taken-in-a-single-shot?utm_source=email&utm_campaign=whatsnewnow&utm_medium=image
about a camera being developed by the Department of Energy's SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory for use with a telescope. This camera captures 3,200 megapixels in each shot! So take that Sony, Canon, Nikon and even Hasselblad. Goodbye GAS attack.
I studied electrical engineering (numerical and analytical for sure, logical is up for question) and I see green and gray.

Hilarious! But wait, the NH description is completely false; a few of us aren't conservatives.
I thought all the liberals had left NH and gone to Massachusetts, the communists to Vermont and the good ole boys to Maine and that no-one was left except conservatives.
Those of us here in Houston were lucky in that the storm missed us. We had a brief shower yesterday, not much else.
My sister-in-law in Lafayette, LA just texted that they are past the worst of it. They got some rain and wind and are without power but are safe.
My prayers are with those between here and there, Lake Charles, etc. This was a monster of a storm.

“General Chit Chat”.
Perhaps one might suggest to the Admin that he/she/they add a "Photography Only" section to this "General Chit-Chat site".
The objection appears to be due to the type of material they are made of rather than the design of the mask. My primary mask is of the style called "neck gaitor" but includes a substantial filter sewn in front of my mouth and nose. The usual style masks do not fit well over my (substantial) nose and beard. I have tried many and cannot get them to seal well around my nose and beard. So, for me the neck gaitor is a device to hold my filter in place.
The astronomy picture of the day (APOD) for today https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html has an interesting (to those interested in physics) discussion of the origin of the many elements.

I saw a couple of "...walks into a bar" jokes and thought I'd add a few more groaners.
Two atoms are walking down the street.
"Wait..." the first atom says, "I've lost an electron."
"Are you sure?" the second one asks.
"Yeah, I'm positive" responds the first.
A neutron walks into a bar and goes up to the bartender.
"How much for a beer?" the neutron asks.
"For you...no charge!" responds the bartender.
Two atoms are walking down the street.
"I'm such a loser" the first one says.
"I don't spin right; I can't bond properly; I don't even have all my protons" he goes on.
The second responds, "Oh don't be so negative!"
I saw a couple of "...walks into a bar" ... (
show quote)
Never trust an atom, they make up everything.
I'd rather have champagne than real pain.
this appears to be a wrong link, doesn't fit the title.
Forwarded to me by a very smart sister-in-law.
When I wear a mask in public:
* I want you to know that I am educated enough to know that I could be asymptomatic and still give you the virus.
* No, I don’t “live in fear” of the virus; I just want to be part of the solution, not the problem.
* I don’t feel like the “government is controlling me;” I feel like I’m being a contributing adult to society and I want to teach others the same.
* The world doesn’t revolve around me. It’s not all about me and my comfort.
* If we all could live with other people's consideration in mind, this whole world would be a much better place.
* Wearing a mask doesn’t make me weak, scared, stupid, or even “controlled.” It makes me considerate.
* When you think about how you look, how uncomfortable it is, or what others think of you, just imagine someone close to you - a child, a father, a mother, grandparent, aunt, or uncle - choking on a respirator , alone without you or any family member allowed at bedside.
* Ask yourself if you could have sucked it up a little for them.

*I* have expressed a severe want for a new word for decades.
I need just one word theat expresses: "Yes-No-Maybe-Kindasorta-But-Notreally".
THAT would be a pretty handy word.
Here in Texas we say "Isn't that precious!" It means all that plus Bulls**t.
