Apologies, this actually is photography related.

I used to follow the latest in camera technology and drool over how much resolution one could get in the latest cameras from our favorite manufacturers. GAS attack imminent!

Today I read this article
https://www.pcmag.com/news/scientists-snap-largest-digital-photos-ever-taken-in-a-single-shot?utm_source=email&utm_campaign=whatsnewnow&utm_medium=image
about a camera being developed by the Department of Energy's SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory for use with a telescope. This camera captures 3,200 megapixels in each shot! So take that Sony, Canon, Nikon and even Hasselblad. Goodbye GAS attack.

Amazing how much mischief a bunch of optical engineers, physicists, and random other digital techies can get into when they've got fifty $illion bucks to play with.

Wise of you to say goodbye to that GAS attack you might've had. At least until those pikers up the capabilities of this uber-snapper such that it can shoot 15 fps, or has dual QXOD card slots....
