For mainly word based books, with a few pics included, I used iUniverse. They're owned by a real publisher, Random House I believe now; they did a fine job for 3 books. It was some years ago now. They are POD but do have ties to actual bookstore promotion/distribution and Amazon too if you have aspirations for broader sales. I would however not use them where pics are the key.

Canon seals their cartridges extremely well. Still, once in a great while I get one with dried up ink; there are many vendors and conceivably some cartridges could float around for years after they were made. If you buy on line there's really no way to know. IMO, there should be some rule or law that puts an expiry date on the cartridge just like on food...

This Q seems to go to the heart of Nikon's new mirrorless system that with their adapter can use most if not all of their prior lenses that fit on their SLR's. I agree that more glass would not be optimum but this I don't believe introduces new glass. I will also grant that the balance of the camera can become unwieldy. But Nikon has ~50 or so lenses that have specific purposes. Only a few such today are covered by the new lenses designed and out for the X cameras. Does one have to wait until they duplicate the range again? Long time I suspect. Has someone done tests that show that such adapted lenses actually detract from the quality or creation of the shots on the X series? Per the comment just above, what specifically for Nikon's mirrorless cameras are the limits?

Aperture had two options: embedded and referenced. If you chose embedded I believe you have difficulties. Referenced should work fine.

Right on, it's big and it's heavy. But I find I'm using it increasingly to combat iPhone-itis. The perspective is different of course especially at the widest end and therefore the compositioon of many shots gives a different and unique feel compared to the panos iPhones do so well and viewers often like, so I find it's worth the extra bother.

I really like how unlimited Amazon Prime Photo storage works. Good organization and pretty quick assuming one has a fast wifi. Q is this. I may want to delete photos on my 3TB internal drive for space reasons but would just as soon not delete many of them from Amazon. My experience is that the synch of such services goes two ways. Yours?

Suggest reading the excellent, very detailed Nikon annual report as posted by repelo above:
https://www.nikon.com/about/ir/ir_library/ar/pdf/nr2019/19nikonreport_e.pdf

Nikon is a huge company that has endured the same contraction in camera sales that all similar firms have seen; as shown in the report, audited by a US firm, it has actually adjusted and survived very well. It continues to make profits, pay dividends and do share repurchases while dealing as best it can with changing conditions, and diversifying to related fields based on its historic skill sets, as of course it needs to. China has now replaced the US as its largest market. In sum, it isn't going anywhere negative anytime soon.

I have same cameras and lenses. Love them! I also have 8 bags, enjoy "tuning" need to the use. Agree at age 77, weight and bulk management are increasingly a challenge. But have had great luck with Gura, Lowepro and most recently and perhaps interestingly, the Amazon house brand roller.

I've had 3 of them so far and like the others who spoke here, won't go back. I would however buy Apple support which is also peerless. Consider buying what Apple terms a "rebuilt" one. Comes with new wty. and saves ~$200 usually. To me, just like new.

I had similar problem and actually I caused it. Make sure your menu B4 setting is off...or that you don't touch or brush against the rear adjustment wheel if you've put the setting "on"!

I am thinking the new Nikon Z50 with pancake lens would be excellent. Quiet and light!

I also have an 850 and am also o-l-d i.e. shaky at times. My suggestion is to use auto iso high allowed, A priority and set the minimum shutter speed to like 1/400 or 1/500. Use at least F4. Bet you'll now get great shots!
