If you can identify where on your hard drive your photos are located, Importing to LR should be a snap.
LR gives the option to "Add" photos to its Catalog during Import in addition to "Move" or "Copy". So, in the Import dialog of the Library Module, select "Add" at the top of the screen. On the left of the screen, select the directory (Windows) or Folder (Mac) that contains the photos you want to import.

Once you point LR to the directory, the photos should appear in the middle portion of the screen. You can select All or as many as you want to Import.

Remember that the Import tells LR where your photos are. You may, but do not have to Move or Copy them during import. Move or Copy are most appropriate when loading new photos from you camera or memory card, or when you want to create a new folder or directory structure.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion, it actually worked pretty well. For some reason it didn't get them all but most of them.

Is there a way to seamlessly import my photos from Mac's "Photo" app into my Lightroom CC. Sure don't want to send each photo to the desktop and then import in LR CC. Thanks for any info.

Probably one of my biggest mistakes in life was moving from Missoula to Oklahoma. Montana is so cool, pun intended, and the photo ops unlimited!

I was born in the State of Georgia, but moved to Florida, where I spent most of my life. I moved back to Georgia when I retired simply because it is a cheap state to live in. Just one example is, in Florida, taxes are four times what they are in Georgia.
The problem is, many, but not all of the people here are about two bricks short of a full load. Now, I suppose you need proof so here goes.
Contractors put the air conditioner handler units in the attic because they are too lazy to run duct work to the basement where they should be. They then install a leak pan under the unit that rarely works, then when they leak and then water floods the ceiling. I wonder about ninety year old people that must go into the attics to change the filter. If you go into a store that has a bathroom, they install a bottom feeding toilet paper dispensers five inches off the floor and you have to rise up off the toilet to get paper. that was ok for the old side feeders. More people have died on the roads in Georgia than in Tennessee, South and North Caroloina and especialy Florida. Stupid people cause more wrecks it seems. There are many more examples but I can't list them all...Anyone know any more to share. I love slamming Georgia.

You can trash Georgia all you want, but have you ever been in Oklahoma? The people here are generally very nice but the state is really out of touch with the modern world. The state in at the bottom of every feature you would want a state to have, ie, education, employment, health care, and on and on. It is at the top of every feature you don't want, ie., number of women incarcerated, poverty levels, social services, number of meth users per capita, poor infrastructure, and on and on. And I have never seen a state with as much cronyism as there is here. I wish I had never moved here, but I did and unfortunately will probably die here.
So good luck with Georgia!

The download is to show usually a much larger version of the image, and one that included the EXIF information of the image.

Not necessarily to enable an actual download.

Thanks, Don. You're always so helpful.

I am uncertain what purpose the "download" feature is on many of the photographs here. Is it for us to post process our version of the photo? There was one today that showed a picture of Eddie Cantor with a request to download the second photo which was of an insect with the same kind of bulging eyes Eddie had. I clicked on download which merely opened a large size that I suppose I could have saved but why would I want to? Didn't look like it needed any improvement to me.
