Importing from the Mac "Photos" app

Is there a way to seamlessly import my photos from Mac's "Photo" app into my Lightroom CC. Sure don't want to send each photo to the desktop and then import in LR CC. Thanks for any info.

I have the same issue with PSE13. Looking forward to how the forum responds to this question.

I'll be watching too. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way around the desktop avenue. On May 26th, I'll be attending a workshop at the Adobe offices in San Francisco on Lightroom 6's improvements. If we don't get an answer here, I'll be sure to ask the same question at the workshop.

Can you bring up both programs on the screen, in the reduced-size, side by side, then highlight the photos you want to transfer, then click and drag them into LR all at once? To highlight a number of photos on the Mac, click on the first of a series of photos, then scroll down as far as you want to go, hold down the "shift" button on the keyboard, then click on the last photo with the mouse. This will highlight/select the first and last photo, as well as everything in between. Then when you left click on, say the first photo, hold down the mouse, then drag everything over to the other program. They should all transfer at the same time. Unless LR won't permit that procedure. I have no experience with Lightroom.

If you can identify where on your hard drive your photos are located, Importing to LR should be a snap.
LR gives the option to "Add" photos to its Catalog during Import in addition to "Move" or "Copy". So, in the Import dialog of the Library Module, select "Add" at the top of the screen. On the left of the screen, select the directory (Windows) or Folder (Mac) that contains the photos you want to import.

Once you point LR to the directory, the photos should appear in the middle portion of the screen. You can select All or as many as you want to Import.

Remember that the Import tells LR where your photos are. You may, but do not have to Move or Copy them during import. Move or Copy are most appropriate when loading new photos from you camera or memory card, or when you want to create a new folder or directory structure.

Hope this helps.

Very helpful from my (MAC) standpoint. Thanks for the guidance! /Ralph

Thanks for the suggestion, it actually worked pretty well. For some reason it didn't get them all but most of them.
