Shop around. I bought the Sony refurbished for $399 about a year ago. I bought the lens new about the same time for about $300. The lens is manual focus but the Sony is very easy to focus and the pictures are sharp. You could also buy a Sony 18-55 zoom lens and get auto focus but a little less wide angle. I bought mine labeled Hasselblad (made by Sony ) for $150, The Sony has a 1.5 crop factor so the Rokinon would be 18mm in 35mm and the Sony zoom 27mm-83mm. I use both now and then and the pictures are nice and sharp on both. Happy shopping.
Shop around. I bought the Sony refurbished for $3... (show quote)

I bought a refurbed SX60HS from Canon a couple of months ago for $299. Believe me the long zoom is over rated at best. AF is OK at short focal lengths only. MF is junk. Fine tuning MF is a fantasy. Honestly I have an old SX150IS that takes better snapshots. Stick with the DSLR. The new mirrorless models are just as small and take much nicer pictures. My Sony A6000 with a Rokinon 12mm is smaller that the SX60 and is light years ahead in IQ.

Hi 'tropics68'... Any idea what a Used or Refurbished A6000 plus a Used or Refurbished Rokinon 12mm would cost; ...and WHAT is the 12mm equivalent in 35mm.?? -- Thanks 'tropics68'

Thank you so much. The weather has been cloudy and wet and I am getting cabin fever. Looks like Sunday or Monday may have some sun and I found a new spot with a lot of Mina Birds, Doves, and Magpies.

Hi 'letmedance'... You're MOST Welcome. These pictures give me GREAT Hope for the 'Next-Generation' in the FZ-series. --- As I just explained in another post, taking pictures at Weddings (husbands standing behind seated wives, for a table of 10 or 12 people), is the PRIMARY Use I will make of this $399 camera. -- Not quite a Pocketable; but I don't mind.

I didn't read the specs but can you set the aperture on these camera to f/16?

-----------------
Hi 'BebuLamar'... Not SURE without going back to my source and Looking. HOWEVER, If I'm standing 10ft - 12ft from the center of a round table for 12 people, do you feel that f8 would give Crisp focus for all People (husbands would be standing behind seated wives.)
BTW... This is HOW I would use this camera. --- Yes, I would use the internal flash, provided its Horizontal-range was adequate; otherwise I would look to a Peter Gregg solution for Difussion of the Internal Flash.

What is your definition of "ultra wide"?

Is this 20mm actual or 20mm "35mm equivalent"?

-------------------
Hi 'MtnMan'... It's a "35mm equivalent". I can see how you could have been confused.
BTW... It's the reason I coupled it with the 21mm (35mm equivalent) of the Canon SX60hs when I posted the Question.

Neither. I'd get a Lumix with a Micro 4/3 sensor and viewfinder.

There are many models to choose from.

---------------------
Hi 'MtnMan'... I'm confused. Please specify a Lumix that has an ULTRA wide lens (20mm) that sells for UNDER $400.

Re: "Which would YOU choose (come March)"
---------------------
Come March 2017, the FZ80 hits the streets 20--1200mm for $399.95. --- Currently you can get a refurbished SX60HS 21--1200 for $399.95.
--- --- Since I take pictures of parties and groups and 'tables at weddings', I need a good flash geared {i.e. diffused} to the 20mm lens shooting at 12-15ft distance at f8--f16.

GOAL: To get a decent 8x10 of a Night HS Soccer game from Stands.
---Isn't there a Camera{shooting 4K video} or a Camcorder that allows 'Frame-Grabbing'.? --- --- I've shot video on my iPod and used the FREE
'VideoPix' App to get 'precise' moment desired.

Sounds like a meteor or space junk burning up in the atmosphere. The thing about UFO's is there has never been any unidentified artifact from space exhibited where ordinary people could see it. Lots of photos but never from two angles that would allow accurate geometric measurements.
