I like this....there are many trails this would be very useful...and I just don't know any airlines that land on trails to seek out pretty landscape photos....so flying is already out ...in my book..
flying to another part of the world I would use a different setup anyway....

I need something to carry lights stands and occasionally a tripod.
I have a light stand bag with a shoulder strap, but have only two shoulders.
The oxygen cart (or golf cart) would be just the ticket.
I'm thinking several pvc pipes might look like a mortar launcher, but if I don't use camo paint, I think I will be ok.
Thanks for posting.

Can any Hoggers out there advise on the average number of shutter actuations typically found on refurbished Nikon bodies sold from Nikon USA? There is a sale, going on right now and I may just pull the trigger on a new body but their chat line told me they did not have that information available. So, I figured I would check with some of you who may have purchased from them before and see what your experience has been. There is a short window for this opportunity so I am hoping someone out there will be able to comment on this rather quickly. Thanks.

I was in eastern Greenland last week. The night before I flew back to Reykjavik there was an Aurora outside my back door in Kulusuk. I liked the photo because of the reflections in the water.

Nikon is just not the Nikon I have been used to in years past...I really think they are rushing things a bit....so as buyers maybe we should just back off and let them figure it out that we will not buy anything not proven...Just saying..... products are hitting the market too soon....

Why newbies are being discourage to start on highend camera like
D800? I bought D800 as my first DLSR and together with the trinity lenses because I am doubtful if I will have still time to upgrade if I will start on lower end because of my age. With 5 months of reading the manual that came with it and reading here.I did learned a lot and now recently can take a better picture than with P&S and smartphones.

LIFE is short ...like a vapor....go for all the new cameras has to offer...ring ALL the bells

I have found some slides from when my dad was in the Korean War which are in good shape. Anybody know a reputable company that will convert these to film / digital. I would love to be able to have digital copy I could make prints from. I'm assuming they would have to somehow photograph the slide and convert it?

I would try slideprinters.com they do excellent work

I want to purchase a 500mm to 1000mm lens for my Nikon.
Although I do not want to spend alot of money. Any suggestions for a decent reasonable priced lens?
