I live at about the 4,000 foot level, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, on top of a nice ridge. Every morning, when I take my dog (Hooch) out early, I am often greeted with a spectacular sunrise, or interesting storm clouds, or sometimes just some fun fog that settled into my valley below.

Here are three recent examples of some of my morning views.

Comments are more than welcome.

love the first one, pip

Even though it is man made, it is still a nice display. I have posted pics of this before back in the summer.

I guess it does get cold enough, long enough for this sort of thing down here.

great shots  pip

Been getting some nice comments on the pictrues I post, so I thought you might like these.

The stacks of colored paper are used for burning.

During the upcoming Spring Festival (Chinese New Year), people will burn a bundle of paper to remember their loved ones who have passed away. It is believed the smoke carries the money to heaven, so their loved ones have money in the after life.

Other pictures include a coal fired power plant, a bicycle garbage cart, and a street sweeper clearing the roads of a recent snowfall.

Since it only snows about a half an inch, the city does not use plows.
Been getting some nice comments on the pictrues I ... (show quote)

Got another opportunity to photograph my grandfather. I want this one blown up and printed. I use a new Epson photo printer and paper, however when I print it full-size, my colors are subtly changed and there is a spike in image noise.
Should I change a setting or tweak my photo? As you can imagine, I've been burning through black ink and it's starting to get frustrating. I have tried three brands of photo paper, as well.

Yeah try the local printers, great quality and cheaper too ;)
