I've been thinking about what camera I would want for drone photography. Something cinematic but not the huge DSLR rigs. Something that allows aperture control and with some lens flexibility and the ability to add an ND filter. Maybe an anamorphic lens? I don't really know what the options and hoping to hear about some experiences. I guess it would need to be a rather modern platform to interface with a monitor and controller.

I'm assuming I'd need to build a custom rig since most off-the-shelf drones come with their own fixed lens camera.

I feel like I've been tied down all summer and unable to do any of the trips I had planned. Yesterday I was busy making bookmarks for my next tent show when a friend called and invited me to go to Apache Lake. I hadn't been to Apache Lake for decades, and since the road washed out some years back, it was sort off my list. What fun! It's miles of narrow, dirt road where you either pull dangerously to the edge when meeting another vehicle, or back up to a wide spot in the road. No guard rails, of course, and the plunge down on the passenger side going in is hair raising. On the way, one passes Roosevelt Lake, which is quite large. Both lakes are remarkably full after our wet winter. At Roosevelt, there's only the thinnest of white line above the water line. At Apache, I didn't see any white line, but its shores are quite different. It wasn't a long day, but it sure was good to get out!
