Limpkin up a tree

This screecher and her mate have claimed the pineapple palm about 20 yards from my patio. so, I live with the screech hour after hour! the payoff is that they have nested here for a few years and last year's babies made it out of the nest ... Escaping the osprey which circle daily. we'll see what happens this year!

thank you! always love it when I get a bird who doesn't seem to mind me hanging around! I got many great shots.

I don't do fancy! Panasonic FX70! It works for me - though there are many times when I wish I had more!

she stayed there for a long while ... Basking in the ... sun then came out and did the preening ritual! there were several other birds gathered nearby- ibis, wood storks a Limpkin, and 12 Scaup trolling the lake. A fun afternoon!

They don't do the very often but they will go after fish in deeper water sometimes. I watched a GBH do that very thing a few weeks back.

our lake is high right now so she had no choice! Yes, I know it is an egret ... Just fall into the heron thing! actually it is a Great Wet Egret:)
