Since the Mac version is for an entirely different operating system I doubt that you actually even installed anything when you inserted the Mac disk. If your Windows version is operating OK then I wouldn't worry about it. If you are concerned you could go to Start then Programs and see if it shows up, or open up your control panel and look for it under Add Or Remove in Windows XP or, I think, under Programs or Program Control in Vista and 7.

I assume you are using autofocus. I had a T3i and had the same experience. The camera will shoot regardless of the light but not unless it can focus. It won't focus below certain light levels. That's one reason why when using the flash it will pre-fire. It provides enough light to focus. This works at close range but is useless for longer shots, and when not using the flash, of course. I found this out, and almost froze in the process, while trying to shoot Christmas lights on my house one year. Working on the theory that you only read instruction manuals AFTER you screw up, I finally figured it out. Put the lens on manual focus and try again. Should work fine.

Love the composition and light of the image and SueMac did a super job! Now I'm wondering about the piece of towel/clothing in the tree :)

The cloth is actually a part of the canopy over the lounge we were sitting on. I hadn't even thought about it but it certainly wouldn't hurt to remove it. I agree, SueMac did a superb job!

Thank You all for your kind comments. For those who have asked, the ship spends part of the year at our dock in Athens, NY. It docks at Ver Plank, NY for the winter. Most of it's routine maintenance is done here. It's sailings can last for a day or several weeks. The crew is mostly volunteer. Volunteers are always welcome and photographers can often be accomodated with advance arrangements. Feel free to contact me about it.

The company I work for helps support the replica ship Half Moon and allows it to use our Hudson River dock during the summer. Snapped this one morning when I got to work last April. Fortunately I had my camera. (Now I rarely leave home without it). Sent it to the chief meteorologist at WTEN in Albany, NY and he showed it on air. My 15 seconds of fame! Any critiques would be appreciated.

I like this photo but the pole in the middle kinda ruins it. My only excuse is that I took it during Happy Hour! I haven't done any editing of the photo yet, but when I do I would like to get rid of the pole. I have Essentials 12 and I'm pretty sure it is quite capable of doing the job but I would appreciate any advice. My one previous attempt with Essentials 10 was a disaster.

From what I can find out most current DSLR's utilize a low pass internal filter to eliminate the IR spectrum. Digital sensors can be negatively affected by IR. I've been in the habit of using UV/IR cut filters but now it appears that the IR portion of the filter is overkill. While researching my current camera, a Canon 70D, I saw a reference to the low pass filter that indicated it also blocked UV. Haven't been able to verify that. Anyone have any info? I don't mind buying filters if they give the proper result, but I don't want to waste my money either. Too many other camera toys out there waiting to be bought! Thanks for any input.
