The GBH shows the amazing AF of the RX10 amidst lots of back round clutter .......600mm f4 equiv., 1/1000, 400 ISO - this with a 50% crop in soft overcast light....

Another shot of the nest with mom, pop, and the single Eaglet munching on breakfast - 600mm f4 equiv. + 2X CIZ = 1200mm + 50% crop from about 130 yards distance - hand held/braced.

Thanks to ALL for stopping by and for comment .....

The Samsung S23 Ultra is really a wonder sometimes. I saw this hawk flying close to my house and was without a camera to capture it. But as I was walking I brought my phone. I then zoomed all the way and with some difficulty (it is not easy following a bird with a phone and screen, Although it kept flying away as I got near, the hawk settled down for a bit and I was finally able to capture it.

I gave away my records, and my ELAC turntable in the 90's. Had that turntable since 1969/70 (bought in the military Audio shop in Germany)... Oddly, it did not come with a case/enclosure... Bought that separately.

Yes, Elac's were very popular at that time in Germany when I was there - reel to reel tape decks also. (what a PITA!)

Have had and used MANY turntables over the years and finally settled on a Bang & Olufsen Beogram -very simple and un-complicated......! 8-)

Don't put more money into a failure-prone vI of this lens. The vII resolves all the technical failures of the original 24-105.

Here - https://photographylife.com/reviews/nikon-z-28-400mm-f-4-8-vr - is a good discussion of the new Nikon 28-400 lens.

I will preface this article by saying that superb HUGE ratio/ranging zooms are possible and affordable and as an example I cite the 2017 Zeiss 24-600 (equiv.) f2.4-4 as used on the Sony RX10m3/4.

[quote=BAchme]The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 is a Standard Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras (New, White Box). /quote]

Yes, the 18-135 was a kit lens for the 90D - that is why it is in a white box now. Canon takes some of the left-overs kits and separates them hoping to get more $$ sales that way .....

No1. I would clone out the strange back round. As mentioned cropping could be finer tuned in several . No. 6 can and should be brightened a bit in post while still retaining proper white feather details . Under exposing a bit is safest protocol for white feather birds - especially if shooting JPEG. 8-)

Back then, one of the big debates was who was the better guitar player, Clapton or Duane Allman. For some reason, a lot of people never included Betts in those comparisons, but he was a great player too.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

Betts never got the credit he was do

Forrest Richard "Dickie" Betts, one of the founding members of the legendary southern rock band "The Allman Brothers" passed away today, April 18, 2024 at age 80 after a battle with cancer and COPD. Betts, along with Duane and Gregg Allman, and Berry Oakley formed the band in 1969.

Betts and Duane Allman were both lead guitarist's in the band with contrasting styles, Allman's being a more bluesy, slide guitar versus Betts more country style of playing, as evidenced by some of the bands biggest hits which were written by Betts. After Duane Allman died in 1971, Betts was the lone guitarist in the band. The subsequent years were marked by two breakups and reunions, with Warren Haynes joining the band in 1989, resulting in the familiar two lead guitar sound that the original band was famous for. The late 90's saw more turmoil between band members, and Betts left the band for good in 2000.

Three of Betts most well known songs below.

I'm unsure if anyone can help, but since we all use computers, I thought it was worth a shot.

I'm a member of a group called FaithTech. A neighbor friend of mine coordinates the local group and invited me as a photographer to join. While it's just getting off the ground, I've found it to be an interesting mix of people. Many are coders in both the back and the front of the house and trust me, that is a whole other world! Some are employed, others aren't. This economy has really hit hard in their IT world. The group is to network, support, and share new knowledge. They also have labs on another day where members can work together on projects.

We all have different needs and have different things to offer. Tonight, over pizza, one member who is a writer/photographer wants to purchase a Mac and asked if we had suggestions as to the best place to purchase and what to look for. Obviously, money is tight. We all made some suggestions as she's a PC person. We recommended going to the Genius Bar and Apple to check for refurbished.

Does anyone here know of any other places that we might suggest?

Thanks!

Barb

I started out on Macs and a member of the Mac user's group - after my last I-Mac crashed I realized Macs are for well-to-do people - of which I am not ......so now I am a PC user ......
