Ikelite. If I were only using it for shallow water I’d go with Aquatech I think.

Thanks Paul. I think part of the appeal is the somewhat abstract nature of them, the reflections are as much a part of the photo as the subject.

Our friend here Jules Karney helped me out with some advice on applying to be a MaxPreps photographer, and with the help of him and a local MP guy, I have been conditionally accepted pending some full galleries once the fall high school season begins. I've been getting in some practice and concentrating on shooting in their required "style", which is a good bit different than what I'd shoot otherwise. Here are a few of those shots: the first 4 are with 100-400 zoom of our local high school in the playoffs, the second 4 are incoming 9th graders with a 400mm 2.8 I was able to buy recently :)

This has been a fun and interesting read. Some of us contributing here primarily work with our partners, so not much choice there, LOL. FYI, the muse is a natural lady with one rose tattoo on her neck. All the women I have ever photographed nude, to my knowledge, have been natural. Most have had ink.

There is a trend these days for older, busty women to get a breast lift. This normally requires the nipple to be moved and that procedure leaves a perfectly round scar around the areola that never looks natural. Of course, I imagine most of the ladies getting the procedure are thinking about what they'll look like in a swimsuit or clothes, where this little detail will go unnoticed. That said, I really don't care for the look on a figure model. I recently shot a friend's wife that's contemplating this procedure. I personally think her figure is fine in its natural state of decline Another of the friends I've photographed has just undergone a double mastectomy and she'd like to do a Fk! Cancer set when her reconstruction is completed and healed. That will be interesting.

I met a nurse last week that was working with my wife. She moonlights doing cosmetic tattooing. Her specialty is tattooing in areola after reconstructions. She and my wife had a very interesting conversation about areola size and color that had me blushing.

As for my personal preference, if I was hiring a model from a group of portfolios that included nude images I would shy away from implants. A model's ink can be flattering or not, they really have to be judged on a case-by-case basis. I don't care for collections of small, cheap tattoos without any theme on men or women.

I like the rose AND the horns :) Can't wait to see more of her again!

Thank you for sharing Thurber...

Nikon Ambassador Dixie Dixon is a well established and gifted Fashion Photographer of considerable merit. Having followed her journey for years I can assure you that Dixie "Gets it" i.e. she comprehends that Fashion Photography is the result of "Team Synergy" and not primarily the photographer who is only one of a cast of many including Art Directors; Hair; Makeup; Wardrobe; Set Styling; Lighting etc...

As a commercial makeup artist I've had the privilege of collaborating on many commercial Fashion shoots... Every team member brings their own special expertise and gift to the session... Thurber I believe you now truly comprehend the charismatic aura latent within a commercial Fashion session...

btw my fav from this post is your epic candid of Dixie with her captivating enchanting smile... Love it!
Thank you for sharing Thurber... br br Nikon Amb... (show quote)

Thanks Thomas, it was interesting experience, much different than just setting up a couple of strobes and shooting away. Dixie, Eric and Roxanna were all great to watch and learn a few things from.

A bit of explanation about these pics, and a disclaimer...
Our local camera store hosts an event each year with many different workshops, and this one was on "The art of sensuality". One of our local photographers "Dixie Dixon" put it on and a local model, Roxanna Redfoot, was gracious enough to put up with about 20 workshop participants for the evening.
The disclaimer: while I took (and edited) all these shots, the real magic happened when Dixie's crew chief/lighting master Eric Jang set up the lighting for us. He has an extensive background and interest in lighting for stills and video/film and it really shows. Other than totally blowing the settings it would have been difficult to take a poor photo considering a pro model and pro-level lighting. His setup was all continuous 5000K LED, and included a large homemade "square" similar to a ring light.
Nothing too graphic here I just thought you guys might like to see them!

Nice work. Only been with UHH for a few months. Recently joined the nude forum because of my experience in that arena and I was expecting to see impressive image making using the female form. I have been sadly disappointed in what has been posted so far. This image is the best nude photograph I have seen on UHH.

Hang in there, there are some very nice images posted here (just not every day) :)

Check out Red River Paper's printer reviews. These guys have great products, customer service and knowledge about all aspects of printing. I don't see that they have a review of the newest Canon yet, but I'll bet if you're interested you could call them and they would be glad to give you the lowdown on it.
They also have good info on printing costs of each printer.
