As a budding photographer that really appreciates the helpful expertise of many of you on this site, I wanted to get an inkling as to how your minds work. Particularly, when you choose to go out to take photographs, do you have a specific type of photography in mind (i.e. landscape, wildlife, buildings, etc.) or do you tend to shoot at what presents itself to you? And before you walk out the door, how do you decide what lens you will have on your camera or will you tend to carry multiple cameras or lenses? So often, I go for a walk in the woods looking for interesting subjects to shoot and halfway through my walk I am saying to myself, "Boy, I wish I had brought the xx lens instead of the yy lens." Do you ever say, today on my walk I am going to concentrate on shooting wildlife, while tomorrow it will be flowers? I hope you understand the nature of my question.

Plan ahead, know what you are doing before you actually do it.

Some flexibility is of course going to let you
be more opportunistic.

So imho, if you have to travel lite, a "normal" (50mm on full frame) lens, or one that zooms
either side of "normal" (24-70 on full frame) is the way to go, and if you must/can, zoom with your feet.

Being an avid motorcyclist, often I need to travel lite. Also I do paid assignments so careful
planing is essential.

And having said all that, I'm just a hack, and very very far from being an "expert"
so my advice may not be worth digesting... lol.

It may have already been said, but if the image has been printed
then it is not a raw file. The raw file is just ones and zeros... or
paths that are closed or open.

I "file" that our eyes recognise as a picture has been processed
whether it be in the viewfinder, on the display of your camera or
on the display of your phone or computer...or especially a print.

I'm very far from being an expert so this is just imho.

I turned 75 ths year and I ride for fun. On a bike like those, I would be uncomfortable after about 25 miles. My preference is what many would call a Grandpa bike, A Harley-Davidson Road Glide Ultra. It is big and heavy but it gets me where I want to go comfortably. I'll continue riding it until I cannot hold it up anymore. Not sure if, at that stage, I'll move to trike or not. Only time will give that answer.

You would not believe how comfortable my ZX12R is... the black bike in the back yard.
It eats entire States effortlessly... and Australian states are a lot bigger than yours mate.

A unit with one wheel at the back and two at the front kinda makes sense.
However one at the front and 2 at the back is joke imho...
especially if it has a transverse crankshaft.

The below makes almost as much sense to me as a "trike" with 2 at the back.

More power to you Hippi.

You deserve a better bike...

As an ex cross country mountain bike racer please believe me;
unless you are spending at least $2500 on a mountain bike,
the rear suspension is a negative.

Get yourself a half stiffy ie. front suspension only... you'l go
further, easier, and faster.

If you were to ride this:

you would think that you've suddenly turned into Lance Armstrong.

Here's another goody:

The next example is a contemporary unit and outside of my knowledge base, but I'm
pretty sure it would be good and is worth at least a test ride.

It is the end of your sway bar. It and the end links and mounting bushings can be replaced. Doorman has a kit.

NO

There is too much corrosion in/on/through other steering and suspension components.
Other parts of the suspension/steering will have sudden catastrophic failure at any time.

The vehicle must be removed from service immediately.

It's not a tie rod, looks more like a sway bar. But the other responders are correct that the amount of rust visible in your pictures indicate the sooner you get rid of this car the better (and safer) for you.

+1

When the connection to the one side rusted through the anti roll bar AKA sway bar
became non functional... In this condition the vehicle will oversteer grossly.
Do not drive the vehicle.
When the other connection broke the ends of the ARB dropped
as you see it in the photo.

As others have said, with this amount of corrosion the vehicle is beyond economical
repair. Sell it for scrap metal and or spares... assuming there is serviceable componentry
still in/on the vehicle.

It needs to be recycled into Campbells Soup cans.

I don't still have the Pursang. There's no motocross courses here, anyway, besides which, I wouldn't be doing motocross now! I usually had only one bike at a time - except once, when my oldest son and I had seven motorcycles in the garage at one time! I had three, and he had four. He was racing motocross at that time - and was quite good at it! If I get the time to look for them, I'll put up pictures of some of my bikes, though there's not really much to interest anybody other than me. My son had a Husky, which somebody stole - out of our locked garage. It was supposed to be good for the cross-desert (to Las Vegas) races, but neither of us liked it! One that we did like!!! was one of the very first Kawasaki triples in the Los Angeles area. I could hear him coming home from work six blocks away. And if you hit a slight bump, which caused your wrist to move just a little, the front end would come up!!! They detuned the next year's version.

I'd be interested.

The apprentice where I worked circa 1974 had one of the Kwaka triple 2 strokes... The Mach III 500,
which he rode like a madman. he used to chuck it down the road about once a month.
He was a great kid though and I'm glad he was never seriously hurt.

The 750 Mach III had 74 very healthy HP and the 500 had about 60HP... according
to my web search.
The Kwaka Versys 650 I was riding Sunday has about 65hp. It's a parallel twin, conventional firing order four stroke...
Which is a testament to how far production bike engines have come since 74... The two stroke
having twice as many power strokes per revolution of the crank and all!

The Kwaka interstate cruise missile you see in my back yard below has just about exactly 3 times
the horses as my Versys 650 daily rider:

Carbon fibre does burn too.
It may take more heat to ignite it than the matrix, but graphite can ignite at temperatures
as low as 650 degrees Celsius... possibly much lower in some circumstances imho.

So "As a composites engineer" you need to hit the books... have a look at Phenomenology Of Graphite Burning
or do some of your own experimentation or stick to carpentry instead of disseminating bull shit.
