Lovely pictures! All I've ever seen of Cornwall have been scenes on PBS, of Poldark and Doc Martin.

Tomorrow I will be having eye surgery to close a hole in the retina of my left eye. A gas bubble will be inserted into the hole. Will have to lay face down for 20 out of 24 hours for the next 10 days. Not looking forward to it. Will not know if the surgery is a complete success for 4 to 6 weeks. Have a chair like contraption I rented from Face Down Solutions to assist in the torture.
Don't know if I will be able to place a lap top in such a way to see the key board and the screen but will give it a try.

I have post a photo of a typical New Orleans French Quarter patio scene. Nothing special but I like it.

Hope to be back soon!

Hope everything turns out well for you. Doesn't sound like interesting recovery requirements. And your shot of the patio is beautiful. I've read descriptions of New Orleans French Quarter, but have never really seen what it actually looks like.

I wish that they still made cars with personality...

I still dream about owning a '57 Chevy. When I was 13 I learned to drive in a '57 Chevy convertible and it's always been my favorite as nothing else ever made looked like them.

I really feel bad for the kids today. They really don't seem to know what childhood is all about. My son often reminds me that I was fortunate to grow up when I did. 75% of the fun of Halloween was spending the month before it arrived deciding on what you wanted to be and then scrounging around for the makings. I noticed this year that there were very few houses that bothered to put up Halloween decorations and I didn't see one kid come around our neighborhood. Sad, just plain sad that a holiday that used to mean so much fun and adventure for kids, has lost all its allure.

The complexity of the rigging of a masted ship has always amazed me. Very interesting shot.

From my not so humble point of view, pretentious menus are just an excuse to tuck it to the members of a pretentious public.

With the angle that vehicle is parked, the spelling doesn't surprise me.

That is a National Geographic shot, maybe even better! If I'd been fortunate enough to make that shot, it would be on my wall in a choice spot.

Is this for real? Someone just posted this on Facebook.

Sometimes, when I read about the cockamamie issues in California, I think that people of logic are in the minority there.

It's a very cute little house. There are plenty of windows and I see a skylight. I'll bet the inside is very well planned and functional!

There is a tiny bathroom and the kitchen is a sink, limited counter space, 3 open shelves over the sink and no cabinets. This 'house' wouldn't even qualify for a decent beach cottage. There is a ladder leading up to a 1/2 loft that I assume is the bedroom.

so the tax to the new property owner would be $4,853, or there abouts.

No, the Newton tax on that house is $2,887, however, when it is sold there is a Massachusetts tax stamp of $4.56/$1000 on the sales price. It's not called Taxachusetts for nothing.

What did Zillow list as the current value for the property that has 'only' $2887 in tax? I'm gonna take a WAG & say 'substantially less' than $450k.

$267,700

If the street was given, the owner & tax information should be available through the county PVA's web site. I've checked various addresses here in town, an acquaintance in Sacramento, CA, and the values of some of the condos in that building that collapsed in Florida several weeks ago.

I did look it up on Zillow and the taxes are $2887/yr 2021, lot size 2452 sq ft. It is the barest minimum in tiny house living. There are towns around Newton, MA that, real estate wise, would definitely give you more bang for your buck for $450,000.

You can have this cute little getaway in Newton, MA for just $450,000. It has an open floor plan of 251 sq ft.

Unbelievable! I wonder what the taxes are on that chicken coop. I had an RV with more square footage than that. PT Barnum was right. There's a sucker born every minute and two to take 'em.
