I might go with the DX because of much lighter weight. What mount are you using for the Meade?
The LCD screens on both cams are the same resolution and since you will be focussing via LiveView, that shouldn't matter.

APO means apochromatic, or literally, without chroma (read chromatic abberation) or what's called CA. The APO designation gets thrown around a lot and has become diluted. A true APO lens would require a flourite type glass which is difficult to work with, very expernsive and not too durable. So, cheaper glass termed ED or LD, which is not APO gets an inaccurate label. ED and LD glass in a photo lens should result in better colors and more definition, but not a perfect absence of CA.

A 24mm 1.25" eyepiece is a bit narrow. Try a 40mm ep, largest you can get in a 1.25" barrel. Your magnification will drop from 22.5x to 13x but you can crop the images to your satisfaction.
BTW, where did you find a Regal scope with a flourite element?
The "ED" element is not composed of flourite...would cost far more if it were.
I'm not sure the flange face to sensor distance of the camera body will affect anything except focus distance.
Have fun and good luck.
