Otto; What makes you think the bloke from Canada is "correct"? Who i3n the HELL are YOU to determine how anyone else chooses to use his spare time ? This is a "forum", Otto; do you KNOW what a "forum"is, Otto? It's a place where members can post things that they think are interesting, helpful, informative, or even humorous, so other "like minded" people can "comment" on them. The big problem being though, the internet, (and this forum ), have thousands and thousands and thousands of "pin heads" ( people like YOU, Otto ), who don't have any friends where they live, they have nothing "interesting" (or sensible ) to talk about ), and because they eventually "get tired" of "playing with themselves" (if you get my drift, Otto ), so all you can do to "amuse yourself is to wait for someone you disagree with to start a topic, then YOU can get on and tell THEM that THEY should be doing ..........whatever! Why aren't YOU out "helping" someone "less fortunate", Otto? Tell me,.....what did YOU do to help all of those "less fortunate" folks in Louisiana and Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina? (or did you just sit home and keep "playing with yourself"? )

I'll tell you what I did Otto; after I volunteered to take a bunch of donated supplies that people in my village had gathered up, I drove them the 25 miles to a church in Terre Haute that had rented a tractor-trailer and was in the process of loading it full of food, bottled water and clothing, and having it driven to New Orleans; as it turned out, the fellow who had offered to drive it was not properly licensed to drive a tractor-trailer, and because I am, I ended up driving the load to Louisiana, and returning the semi to Ryder in T.H.
So you sound very "presumptious" trying to tell me what I should be doing, Otto.

For purposes of full disclosure, I shoot Nikon because my father in law who was a photographer and dark room specialist and considered an expert in all phases of photography gave me a Nikon which got me interested in photography a long time ago. I kept shooting Nikon because I was satisfied with the performance I got from Nikon and I wanted lens compatibility. When pressed for why Nikon, he told me because it was the best camera he could get for the amount of money he was willing to spend.....AT THAT POINT IN TIME! Apparently, he had no brand loyalty and had equipment from multiple manufacturers including Nikon, Canon, Kodak and others.
One point to note....of the professional photographers I have met personally, more shot with Canon. Of course since my profession doesn't put me into contact with more professional photographers than the average person, my anecdotal evidence doesn't carry much weight.
I did raise the question for two reasons. First, it's fun to watch the issue argued. Secondly, because every time I've seen this issue argued, I have learned something new about photography.
So please....if you have an opinion....tell us! And tell us why!

The fact that some one is Gay, Straight, Left handed, Right handed, Drives a Pontiac, Buick, Chevy, goes to church, temple, or sleeps in is irrelevant.

Enjoy your life, have a hoot, be kind to others, make the world a better place. And while you do all this stay out of the faces of people that simply do not care. All you do is make your self look needy and pathetic.

I'm afraid you misunderstand. While I do support the ACA, the post--"Do you NEVER stop?"--referred to above a poster who is a compulsive, and non-thinking, purveyor of right-wing blarney--Sweet Jesus, save us from the cut and paste.

This man will never stop, and--surprise!--today I saw he posted one on photography that seemed very good. Very Good, Poster!

I see you have taken to predicting the future on the ACA, and that is always a difficult activity.

I think I can guarantee you that the ACA will not disappear during the remainder of Obama's term, and by the end of that time, it will sink or swim on it's own.

Mostly, I read you mis-guided post as an emotional plea for reenforcement of your assumptions.

BTW......I've been half the day shoveling 8 inches off of my sidewalk out to my car, then about half of the driveway so I can get the car out; my friend and his wife are on their way to Miami from Pensacola to catch the first cruise ship for two back to back 7 day cruises down in your direction; meantime, I go down to his house every day to check the radiators; it's down to 4 above on the front porch tonight.
