Two questions though:-
Did you feel sick when it bounced?
Was it insured?

1. Yes, VERY. I mean like PUKING sick! Partly because of number 2.

Otto; What makes you think the bloke from Canada is "correct"? Who i3n the HELL are YOU to determine how anyone else chooses to use his spare time ? This is a "forum", Otto; do you KNOW what a "forum"is, Otto? It's a place where members can post things that they think are interesting, helpful, informative, or even humorous, so other "like minded" people can "comment" on them. The big problem being though, the internet, (and this forum ), have thousands and thousands and thousands of "pin heads" ( people like YOU, Otto ), who don't have any friends where they live, they have nothing "interesting" (or sensible ) to talk about ), and because they eventually "get tired" of "playing with themselves" (if you get my drift, Otto ), so all you can do to "amuse yourself is to wait for someone you disagree with to start a topic, then YOU can get on and tell THEM that THEY should be doing ..........whatever! Why aren't YOU out "helping" someone "less fortunate", Otto? Tell me,.....what did YOU do to help all of those "less fortunate" folks in Louisiana and Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina? (or did you just sit home and keep "playing with yourself"? )

I'll tell you what I did Otto; after I volunteered to take a bunch of donated supplies that people in my village had gathered up, I drove them the 25 miles to a church in Terre Haute that had rented a tractor-trailer and was in the process of loading it full of food, bottled water and clothing, and having it driven to New Orleans; as it turned out, the fellow who had offered to drive it was not properly licensed to drive a tractor-trailer, and because I am, I ended up driving the load to Louisiana, and returning the semi to Ryder in T.H.
So you sound very "presumptious" trying to tell me what I should be doing, Otto.

Thank you, Gitzo!

You hit him pretty hard, but he may have deserved it. So many of these liberal trolls on this forum try to take the moral high-ground and disparage the "evil conservatives" for being uncaring. Most are quite presumptuous and hypocritical in assuming ONLY THEY do anything for those "less fortunate", and by paying taxes and dropping a couple bucks in the Salvation Army bucket at Christmas is doing their part for poor people. Many conservatives, perhaps you and I included, do more on an ongoing basis than most of these clown do in a lifetime. We just don't brag about it.

Wow! I didn't see the Tea Party racist thing coming!

For purposes of full disclosure, I shoot Nikon because my father in law who was a photographer and dark room specialist and considered an expert in all phases of photography gave me a Nikon which got me interested in photography a long time ago. I kept shooting Nikon because I was satisfied with the performance I got from Nikon and I wanted lens compatibility. When pressed for why Nikon, he told me because it was the best camera he could get for the amount of money he was willing to spend.....AT THAT POINT IN TIME! Apparently, he had no brand loyalty and had equipment from multiple manufacturers including Nikon, Canon, Kodak and others.
One point to note....of the professional photographers I have met personally, more shot with Canon. Of course since my profession doesn't put me into contact with more professional photographers than the average person, my anecdotal evidence doesn't carry much weight.
I did raise the question for two reasons. First, it's fun to watch the issue argued. Secondly, because every time I've seen this issue argued, I have learned something new about photography.
So please....if you have an opinion....tell us! And tell us why!

My "Tea Party racist thing" was in jest at the post by SpinDrift62's comment about such rants. It wasn't meant seriously. Sorry.

Frankly the world DON'T CARE. White, straight, middle class,
citizens are busing living our lives.
The fact that some one is Gay, Straight, Left handed, Right handed, Drives a Pontiac, Buick, Chevy, goes to church, temple, or sleeps in is irrelevant.

Enjoy your life, have a hoot, be kind to others, make the world a better place. And while you do all this stay out of the faces of people that simply do not care. All you do is make your self look needy and pathetic.
And there IS SOMETHING YOU can do about THAT!

How long before someone turns this thread into a rant about health care, religion or racism? Or have I just done that?

I use Panasonic by the way.

You right-wing extremist Tea Party, bible-thumping, gun-toting, RACIST Republican HATER who let's old ladies die for lack of affordable health care!!! How's that?

I've never used Panasonic, but I know they make a lot of good products. How is their lens availability compared to the others? I've always used Nikon so now it's hard to change because all my equipment is geared to that brand. I like Nikon's lens selection and quality, but I'm also aware than Canon makes a GREAT camera!

Nikon quality, however, is NOT up to forgetting it on top of your car.

A voter used to be defined as a 'white, male landowner'.

I'm guessing you want to restore that definition also.

Bananas used to be green before they were yellow, and John Kerry used to be for it before he was against it. Voting rights were legally changed by a constitutional amendment, and until there is a definite legal change of definition of "marriage", the poster is correct.

I've made a preliminary determination that Don Julio tequila is just as good as Flor de Caña 18, Nicaraguan rum. I only need about $100 million from congress to sufficiently test this theory, so I'm "urging" them to send me a grant. ASAP!

I'm afraid you misunderstand. While I do support the ACA, the post--"Do you NEVER stop?"--referred to above a poster who is a compulsive, and non-thinking, purveyor of right-wing blarney--Sweet Jesus, save us from the cut and paste.

This man will never stop, and--surprise!--today I saw he posted one on photography that seemed very good. Very Good, Poster!

I see you have taken to predicting the future on the ACA, and that is always a difficult activity.

I think I can guarantee you that the ACA will not disappear during the remainder of Obama's term, and by the end of that time, it will sink or swim on it's own.

Mostly, I read you mis-guided post as an emotional plea for reenforcement of your assumptions.

Sorry, I can't help you.
I'm afraid you misunderstand. While I do support ... (show quote)

For once I can agree with a big portion of your post! I don't agree with personal attacks and name-calling toward the OP, but most of us have done it a time or two. "Cut and paste" does not make a story either true or untrue, it has to be taken on the merits of it's individual points, which I can't seem to get any left-thinking person to do.

I do agree, however, that the future of the ACA is impossible to predict. I also agree that all we can do at present is let it "sink or swim on its own", for all the ranting from either side changes nothing. If it's great, it will fly. If it's not, it will sink like the Titanic. My major problem with it is the creation of another HUGE government bureaucracy, costing huge amounts of future cash. This usually does not bode well.

Whether from Canada or where ever; his/her statement is correct. Instead of complaining, why don't you go somewhere and volunteer to help some people less fortunate than you are.

That would be a good use of your time

How is the statement correct? Do you have knowledge that he, or other "right-wingers" are lunatics? How do you know he DOESN'T help people less fortunate? Your implication is that he, and all politically conservative (read: Republicans) are greedy, self-serving people who don't care about others. In most cases that is simply not true, and a blanket statement just makes you appear ignorant of those facts.

If these statements are wrong, then please give us a point-by-point breakdown. Seriously, I would like to see someone come up with a legitimate rebuttal of all the "right wing lunatics". I've asked this several times on this forum, but so far not one well thought out answer. It only gives credence to the original post when there are absolutely no believable counter points, and only creates even more right-wingers.

So far from the left all I've seen is name-calling and ridiculous innuendo.
