I don't know what branch you were in, but in the Army, there was ALWAYS ribbing and "contrasting" views among comrades (解放军万岁) (and August 1 is the day).

I don't know which forums you belong to, but maybe you've never seen or experienced a flame war. Not a sight for the timid... I just took ALL the posts as contrasting views...

And a "photo bond" seems very tenuous to me; how many of us would come over and help you move a piano? (taken from one of my favorite 3 panel cartoons)

And while in subsequent posts you did clarify the issue, the initial post that drew the contrasting views was the A problem it's hell comment. I, and I guess others, didn't see it that way, given you yourself later admitted that it was all due to self-inflicted wounds.

PERSONALLY, if I'd called and couldn't get through, I'd use the website to place an order (my preferred method) as 1)there's immediate feedback, and 2)a written record. B&H has a great website for placing orders.

And at least they told you about a long wait. B&H does have a LiveChat function and while the people there might not be able to solve the problem, at least it's something to try while on hold. Personally, I prefer LiveChat as, again, there is a written record. And even with a long hold, put the phone on speaker and work on the computer, make lunch, read a book, whatever. I'd be thrilled that they didn't drop me while waiting...

And for the record, I have shopped at B&H and also Adorama, the latter probably being my first choice all things being equal, but then again, I don't buy all that many cameras... Now Newegg - I was on a first name basis with the will-call staff when it was open

Oops, customer service just picked up. Gotta go.
Given I'm on hold with customer service, I have so... (show quote)

Never confuse reality to figminate of the mind. Hope the call works out.

I actually have had some great personal contact with some Hoggers. And yes we need to hear the trueth from time to time.

If buying a Canon camera used, why would it really matter if it is grey market? The difference is the U.S. warranty, and the used body off of ebay will not come with a warranty anyway.

Canon does not have a transferability of warranty. Canon does do repair of Grey goods at market price. So jdub you would in my opinion be correct. When buying Canon product used I am not concerned about Grey goods issues.

Introduced in 1991, the Canon EF 75–300mm f/4–5.6 lens is a telephoto zoom lens for Canon EOS single-lens reflex cameras with an EF lens mount. There are 3 basic types of the lens: the IS USM (Image Stabilization, Ultra Sonic Motor), the USM (USM, no IS) and non-USM (no USM, no IS). All 3 types are generally considered to be low-end consumer-level lenses.

The Canon EF 75–300mm f/4–5.6 IS USM Lens was Canon's first Image Stabilized lens. Even with IS it is considered a consumer-grade lens.

My opinion only! I am a long time Canon shooter (Ftb). Everyone is can make a mistake. To continue to make a mistake is a sin. Canon I believe should be convicted for crimes against humanity by still producing this lens.

I agree. Both sides of story are needed BUT how does one do that? All he knows is his side. I wait for more problems of the same type being told before I consider acting upon it.

The OP self condemned. He said he was partially at fault. No he was completely at fault. Time limit was up, he missed the call.

The vendor went above and beyond. And now to top it off I am the bad guy.

Beat me with a wet noodle.

I believe it is clear that problem is with the OP not taking the call. I find this a really bad problem with many people not wanting to answer a call that they don't recognize.

Here something to consider. Take a look at third party dual battery and charger packages. I have yet to regret having an extra battery with me. I mean on my person not in the vehicle. I have ran out of power in the field with phot-op in front of me. The only thing I could think of is warm the battery up, rub it or put it in my pocket for a few minutes.

Dual charger are great if you are shooting like cray but i have found even then i really don't use/need that solution. From end of shoot till next morning i have charged both battery with one charger.

Oh, by the way that is a great camera! I spent some quality time behind one. Great with kit lens, but even better with a really quality lens.

If I were looking at that range (70-200) in f stop of 2.8, I would consider the Tamron G2. Per cost this lens looks to be a winner. I am a Canon shooter and own Tokina, Sigma and Tamron, but not in this range or f Stop.

Good luck, J. R.

I just opened a case through eBay and it was refunde with in 3 days. Go online, www.eBay.com/help. There is a spot where you can have eBay call you. It will give you the amount of wait time for the return call from eBay. Tell them the problem and ask them to help you open a case. I believe the seller has three days to reply.
You should have no shipping price to pay when returning. eBay will send you an shipping label by email to print. I normally tear off the old label and place the new one on using packing tape.
