Hi there.
Looking for some information on which brand
Lens is better.
The Tamron or Sigma.
The lens I'm looking for is the 70 to 200mm F/2.8.
Thank you all in advance.

Both are good brands - read the reviews and make a choice.

You pays your penny and takes your choice. Some love them and produce formidable results. Over decades, every time I've bought an off brand lens, it has gone away as soon as I could afford OEM. You may have better luck!

It will depend on the specific lens.

I've got a 150-600mm, a 150mm macro and an 18-200mm and I wouldn't swap them for anything...

You'll get a ton of responses that will not help you. I own the tamron (nikon mount) and have used it for over a year. Professionally I'm a TV photog but the D850 with the 70-200 goes with me on every shoot mostly for social media pics. I'm other words it's been used a lot, banged around a lot etc.

I'm very happy with it. The specs were better and cost lower than the Nikon lens. I also own the Tamron 15-30 and happy with it as well.

That said I suspect OEM would be a bit more rugged but I don't think the images would be better. I can't speak to a Sigma as I've never shot with one. Hope that's helpful!

Terry

I have both. I have a Canon mount Tamron 24-70mm F/2.8 G2 which I love and a Canon mount Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 which I also love. The Tamron has image stability which the Canon does not and that was important to me.

Check the specs carefully.

If you shoot Nikon, the best lens would be a Nikon 70-200 FL. If you shoot Canon, the best lens would be a Canon 70-200 2.8, if you shoot Sony, the best lens would be a Sony 70-200 2.8.
I hope you get my drift. If photography is important to you and the images you take are important to you, then ride with the brand and you'll be a happy cowboy.
But, if you want to save a few dollars and your interested in the images produced to be sharp, then either will give you want you want.

I shoot Nikon, and I go with Tamron, all else being equal, for the simple reason that the zoom ring twists in the same direction as Nikon glass. I did recently acquire the Tamron 70-200 and am still evaluating, but liking it so far. I like the functionality of Tamron’s Tap-in Console for updates and tweaking (Sigma has the equivalent). You can check Ken Rockwell’s review, among others, for outside commentary.
