Thank you ElGee. That's a very interesting and compelling perspective. Gives me something to contemplate and evaluate spiritually.

Prior to ordering a Canon 7D from KEH I asked about the shutter count. I was told they did not give out SC because it was unreliable. I went ahead and ordered a 7D in EX+ condition (according to KEH this equates to 90 to 96 percent of original condition). When receiving the 7D I immediately checked SC and it was 87,000. I immediately called KEH to complain and again was told SC is unreliable. They asked if I wanted refund or exchange. I asked if I could know the SC of exchange and was told no. In defense of KEH they did send me a return shipping label and hopefully they will return my money, but I will not be ordering anything form them again.

KEH price for a 7D EX+ is $579.00, B&H price for a new 7D body is $749.00. $170 cleans up the SC worries.

My old 2009 I Mac is getting tired, I bought the nikon D810 and I am not able to down load my large RAW 36mb files, I use Lightroom 4 and NIK as my editing software. So I am looking to purchase a new IMac, what is your thoughts an the 27 Retina Imac, I do not do any gaming, I am looking for a Mac just for my photography. I also have a few external hard drives that I back up all my photos. Any thoughts on how to or any upgrade to add, and is the Retina worth it. Thank UHH

Apple is bringing out its new OS El Capitan in the fall, which according Apple will work on your 2009, please check their list, and will increase 'speed'.
If you haven't maxed out your Ram that is one thing that can breathe life into an older machine.

Do some digging on the Apple page on the new OS and your machine before you purchase anyway.

I have a Mid 2010 MBP and just recently played build your own at Apple but I am not giving into computer GAS at this time.

Best of luck on your choice.

Once I set my Mac Book Pro to open Lightroom 5 when I plugged in my camera or card reader. Now I need to change it to open Lightroom 6 and I'm about to go crazy trying to figure out where to find that setting on my Mac. It now wants to open the new apple "Photos" app.
Any Mac users out there that can help?

I don't have Lightroom, but when Photos opens there is a box in the upper left that you need to uncheck and Photos won't open.

If there is Preferences in Lightroom you can direct your devices there, at least in Preferences/General in iPhoto is I where checked off for iPhoto to open when a camera is connected to the mac.

I have been, happily, using iPhoto for years right up to, and including, Yosemite 10.10.3. The other day, without my request, everything switched over to Photos. I looked at Photos and found it restricted my ability to make corrections. Fortunately, I have "Apple Care". It took me 1 1/2 hours with a tech to reverse the process. If they would put the same sliders from iPhoto back into Photos, I would switch. Apple is "supposed" to be for creative users. They have taken a step backward (in my opinion) with this one.

You should still have iPhoto and all its tools in both Launchpad and Applications folder. Take a look.

I just checked my updates because something came to mind. There were two 10.10.3 updates; my dates show one on April 9 2015 & the other on April 15 2015, Photos was in the first one.

I am using 10.10.3. The IPhoto icon does appear in launchpad with not grey line through it but it will not open. Tells me I need to update. I guess they are referring to the new "Photos" that comes with Yosemite.

With 10.10.3 you should already have Photos. Check the dock at bottom of the screen. It's a multi-colored kaleidoscope icon. If by all means install Photo from the app store.

Are you using Yosemite 10.10.3 ? That might be the update you're being requested to do.

I have iPhoto in both Launchpad and Applications, no gray lines, accessible.
