May seem like a silly question, but here goes. I have some older Pentax (50mmf1.8) and Mamiya (50mmf1.2) from film days. Is there anyone who makes adapters that I could use on a Nikon D3100? I understand that it would all be manual etc, but that is OK. Would it be practical to try to do this when you can buy new or refurb for a couple of hundred dollars. Just trying to use some old equipment. Thanks for any input.
Thanks for the replies. Nikon batteries fairly new, never been in weather colder than 50-60 degrees. Contacts look fine, no corrosion. My personal opinion is for some reason it was the wet weather. I have never shot in these conditions before.
Went on a photo shoot yesterday. Rainy, damp, 50 degrees and windy. I have a Nikon D3100 with a Vello BG-N5 battery grip. After about 10 minutes or so I got a message something to the effect of "not correct battery, insert correct battery for this camera." I turned the camera off a couple of times and took batteries out,re-inserted and everything was Ok for 5 minutes or so and same thing happened. Took the battery grip off and put the battery in the camera and shot the rest of the day with no problems. When i got home I re-installed the battery grip and everything seems to be fine. Anyone have an idea of what happened? Thanks....John
Don't miss Arches,Canyonlands and Moab area. Spent 10 days there and it was awesome. Take as many trails as possible, go to Dead Horse Point at sunrise. Check out the petroglyphs in Moab area. A photographers dream. Get info on best times to shoot which areas, they are available online and at visitors center.
Have a great time!
Can anyone tell me these flowers are? A neighbor lady gave me the bulbs last year and they are coming up now. They are 5-7" tall. Any flower experts out there?
Thanks for the info, will research and get with my Dr. to see what he thinks...john
I have the same problem, not real bad yet but surgery looks to be an option. I was intrigued by your treatment with the injection. How many did you have , or was one all that was needed?..John
Good Evening Travesty, I was looking at your pictures from the first part of November and I really like the one with the watch, razor and coins. Really excellent shots! Might I ask how you got the "dirty" look on the watch and coins? I am assuming that you did something in Photshop or Elements. I am a big time novice in using these programs, just curious on how you did them. I have tried a few things but not the same effect you have .....Thanks, John
Question for "Linda from Maine and Wall-E :. If I go to Picassa as you suggest, I noticed there is a slider for multiple images. What is it for and what should it be set at.. Thanks
Probably a silly question but what is the best way to store a camera if not in a bag? Lots of times mine is setting on a table. Lens up or setting on the bottom, resting on LCD screen? I have seen some people rest their camera on the bottom with it resting on the lens hood,is it to heavy and possibly damage the mount? What do you think?
In memory of all those who served. Thank you.
Hi Bowmar, I used a D40 for about 3 years and loved it. It is very simple if you just keep shooting and learn to use the different settings. It was my 1st real digital and even for an old guy who is not that much into technology I learned how to use it. On thing that helped me was Ken Rockwells user guide. Find it at kenrockwell.com
Go to camera and lens review,Nikon, scroll down to D40, then MyNikon user Guide. Helped me a lot. Good Luck.
Hi Kurme, I have a d3100 also and had a problem with some of my shots, they had a pink cast to them when taken with auto WB, I still do not know why. What do yours look like? Try shooting in manual and see if that changes anything. if not reset your camera. I also found that after I noticed the pink cast that my lens was not zooming (18-55 kit). It had to be sent back for repair,do not know if it was related or not but seems to be OK now.
Nice shots everyone. Here are some of my favorites
Thanks to everyone for the nice comments.
