These Canon cameras must have internal batteries since they kept the time settings for many years, but suddenly stopped.
Whenever I remove the battery on my Canon G5-X and G16 Powershot cameras, I need to reset the mm/dd/yyyy time setting including the time zone and daylight savings time. This situation has occurred only after a number of years of use. So, how do I get the time settings to stay in the camera if the battery is removed temporarily?

Pentax announced last year that it is dedicated to developing a new generation of film cameras. Many Pentax users were dismayed because saw the company unwilling to compete in the mirrorless digital market, even though their digital cameras and lenses are excellent products for reasonable prices. The Pentax K1000 was the “Kleenex” of the film SLR market, so we’ll see how they do with their film business.
I use the computer for only minimal purposes: straighten the image, minor crops, lighten/darken.
Wrong - it’s understated! Not saying it’s a bad thing; but “photography” is becoming “computography.”
How about two main categories:
1) camera-based photographs, and
2) computer-based photographs.
I’ll bet the first category will have very few postings and the second will have almost all the postings.
Thank you for your nice comment.
