Lets see now, while they are training for 4 years, the rest of us have to work to make a living. Who is paying them while they are training? I think a brain surgeon is a hell of a lot better person to honor then these rich kids.

I watched a news conferance and after, they said they would have their expert panel discuss it. I just watched the damn thing, why do i have to listen to your idiotic panel? And when they start talking you wonder what the hell they were watching. They are all morons

Why not use Dropbox when you want to send pictures. Whoever you send it to picks it up and its in the original format and they can take it from there

I have not read through all the replys, but it seems people don't understand the question. She only wants to know how to get manual focus. Its her decision to make whether or not she likes it. Replys on here go from advice with people who don't have this camera to they don't like manual focus or does another camera have manual focus. As i see it, she only wants you to tell her how she is able to enable manual focus. Whats so difficult with that?

Any interest in the subject, composition, setting? Suggestions to improve, or trash :) ? Thanks for your time!

I think your original shot is perfect. Taking the pipe, the wires and the shade out makes it a plain picture with nothing to look at. Don't over analize your work. Its perfect the way it is

Just fighting fire with fire. If i am the host i either ask selected people before i send out invitations if they would take pictures, and at that point i make sure they get some kind of gift if they have agreed and are cool with it. it might be some cash, a gift card to restaurant they frequent, or it might be a bottle of wine. putting someone on the spot is just rude. i am that guy that has a basket at the door with envelopes and a sharpie so they can drop off their cell phones. the point of social gatherings is human interaction, not piddling with a computer.

As for parties i often wonder if the only reason i get invited to some is because i usually have a camera in the car. I don't start off carrying it in with me, but if anyone asks or if i see something going on and feel there is a need i will ask the host/hostess if they want me to go get it. Then I might record something like opening gifts or cutting the cake. If it is just a social gathering, most of the guests are there to blow off steam and a camera is regarded as an intrusion. If a challenge is issued between dueling idiots, sometimes that is worth recording just in case the insurance company or police need evidence. any activity that starts with the phrase "Hold muh' beer and watch this!" Is probably worth recording.

A smart alec says something like that to me, i will hand him a coconut and tell him "This will be good practice for you. I want the milk and all the meat out of it, but I don't want the shell cracked. Let me know when you are done because we have guests that want Pina Coladas.

Inform them that you have retired from photography and have taken up brain surgery. But, you still like to practice a lot ...and a lot ... and a lot ...
If he tells them that, they will ask him to bring a brain. Much better to bring a camera

But when I hit the "edit with picasa" button, it is not just duplicating the photo I plan on editing. It duplicates everything.
Try clicking on import and when the next screen comes up, click exclude duplicates. Maybe that might help

I place the pointer over a picture icon and right click. A dialog box comes up and in the center "Open with" Place the pointer over 'open with' and another dialog box comes up with a choice of 11 programs to open the file. Bottom choice is to set one of them as default. Seems easy to me.

I don't think i explained it right. When i am in my Picassa program, that is what i do
