200x magnification? Or is this a typo?
Sorry, 200x or more magnification, hence the +

Thanks for the info on the flash. Was that the $54 model?
Polaroid Universal 48 Macro LED Ring Flash & Light Includes 4 Diffusers. I see it on eBay for $49.95 to $69.99

Its interesting that the further you go with this the more the gold looks like a powder instead of a flake. Or maybe its just my old eyes.
I like the first stack the best. So the Polaroid ring appears to be working for you. Are you pleased with the results you are getting?
Hi Jim, The gold was covered with Epoxy. That's why it has a shiny coating under 200+ mag.
I can't be sure if it is dust or a flake that's the way I bought it.
Not sure either if it's natural to the rock or not. Shot from the back side of the coaster seems to show the gold embedded in the Quartz.
I am pleased with the Polaroid Ringflash. I has many different ways to adjust it. Levels from -1.5 to +1.5, flash from the right or left, light on for video or setting up your shot with the exact flash you'll be using. I does all that I would expect from a Ringflash. It doesn't replace a Softbox for what it's needed for. Both together gave me the under over lighting I wanted in the last stack. Of course I'm still the rank amateur in DSLR digital photography. I'd like to see your original image, with no processing at all, and then maybe the cropped version, also with no processing.

I think I'll agree, a little over the top on the PP. I may enhance the contrast just a little, and the sharpening just a tad also, and leave it at that... I like it to look as natural as possible. You'll love that 150-600!

Thanks DL, I keep that in mind. I don't plan on working the stuff I have any more. I'm planning ahead with techniques for the 150-600.

OH what the heck, I tried to to sweeten the Contrast and Sharpening a little.

Great shot with your equipment. You are up late! Gary

Thank you Gary,
Yes the gear I have today is not really up to the task of quality Astrophotography. Next week I'll really cut loose with the 150-600mm. Moon and deep Sky work.

I have trouble lining up elements within one shot...trying multiple exposures melded into one would be ridiculous for me! Way beyond my technical "talents". I leave the tough stuff with you younger folks! You all amaze me!

Hi Bob, Thank you but I've seen plenty of your work and it is fabulous. I really like you resent 'Asian Pear Blossoms', Great bokeh, lighting, focus and composition. Real eye catching.

Best hurry and by one before the price goes down again! I got mine for $100.

Now if only there was a CIS, continuous ink supply, for this printer, I would open my box. Oh well, someday.

Hello DPullum Craig here,
I got mine for $180.00 with lots of Photo Paper. 300 sheets of 8"x10".
But me too, the price of ink has kept me from using it.
I know when I start printing It will be on like Donkey Kong.
And $180.00 will be modest compared to the cost of Ink.
