I think this idea has lots of potential, I can imagine delicate leaves with sunlight shining through and insect silhouettes - but not an easy topic, glad you are doing it and not me.

Insects are rare these days: freezing temperatures, followed by heavy wind and rain. I think the remaining bugs have blown to northern California.

Don't know how you guys do it. I only spent 5 days in Alabama meeting another sister of Deb's. I found some jumpers all right but they were frozen. I guess not all are able to overwinter, or were just caught by surprise from a cold front.

You have all the Waterfowl, wish I was in the Willamette Valley this time of year.

Yes, I forgot about where you lived. It is cooler here now and the number of insects has reduced but can still be found. I found a wall jumper yesterday with a pattern I had not seen before. Roll on the spring eh?

Refreshing subject Allen. I have been thinking about doing something similar with a light table instead of flash. Figure I can control illumination to get an artsy feel to the subject.

I like the thought of the light table and was thinking along the same lines. I had a DIY light table that I used to photograph glass artwork-- but I eventually scrapped it. I've been thinking of picking up the small light table from B&H-- or maybe I'll make another.

Yes, he was hiding in the dead leave stumps of a palm tree - awkward position.
