Clicker, you never disappoint me. That first group of leaves and buds or flower or seeds( I do not know that plant) is beautiful.

Clicker & Dane...thank you very much!! This week has been hard here in the Quebec City region as there are 38 Tall Ships in port and for a devoted photography person, the best time is ASAP daily and tens of thousands of people go over there. My trick..Wake up at 4:45, make a coffee and get on down the the ferry, the first one leaves at 6:00 and by 7:00 there are no more parking spaces left....Are you ready.....???

Speaking of dirty dirt, I thought I would update you on my house. In two months they have worked on my house a total of 4 days. At the end of the month my lease is up and I have to move. So I may be without internet for a while. I miss you all, hope you are all well and fit, and getting (I am sure) great photos. I have shot once in 8 months. God Bless you all.

Hello, Folks. I hope you are all doing well. I miss you but have not been able to make myself think of photographing these last months. Also it is really busy trying to get things done. I have REALLY BIG NEWS! THEY ARE TO START ON MY HOUSE TOMORROW. At long last things may start to look up. Thousands still do not have a contractor, so I feel very blessed to have one that I think will work out well. I hope to be in my house in May, if all goes well. The earth here looks like spring and I am anxious to get out and photograph again, but I will be very busy choosing doors, windows, hinges. sinks, paints, etc, etc. I will check in as often as possible. Really missed the Palooza. I hope for next time.

Sorry to be so out of touch. I do think about you all frequently and wish for time to capture and post. My creativity drowned in a lot of water and met mess. I do hope to get back and ASAP. I will surely get back to you all then.

I am thankful for all of you good photographers who teach me. Also a dry roof over my head (even if it is a rental). I am thankful that I have some insulation and some drywall in my house at last.

Larry, so sorry you had to have surgery. Rufe, hope you are doing well.

Love to you all! Hope it was a great day of thanks for you all.

RR, try selecting the area you want to work on and the brush will only change what you have selected. Make sense? I hope so, it works for me.

Wonderful photos, Road. And the same for all the others I have seen lately. I manage to sneak a peak when I get back to the rental in time before supper and bed. Report on progress (or lack thereof): I still have no walls, but it is dry and fairly clean. I have mopped the foundation 4 times, but that drywall dust is impossible to remove completely. And it smells very dusty. I work every day on getting the tops of closets cleaned out and things packed away. I am still moving things to a storage unit for safe keeping until I have a home again. I do not think I will get into my house until summer. The electrician came this evening and I have to get a lot done on wiring prior to the drywall going up. I had hoped they could start this week, but it is not looking like that now. I do have a working toilet, sink, and hot plate now. At least I can wash my hands. I braved opening my freezer today. I had dreaded opening it because I hoped the seal was good enough that no water got in it, but feared the worst. The power was only off about 30 hours so it stayed frozen. I was so happy to find that the seal worked and all is well in the freezer. I had it pretty well packed. Now I have to get the wring plan done and get the wiring completed so that the drywall can go up. I am changing the arrangement in my kitchen and breakfast room so some wiring has to be changed. All the outlets had to be changed because of the water damage. I am so happy to see a little hope for progress. Hope you are all well and everything is going well. I hope to have time for photos again someday! I miss you all very much. You are a wonderful group.

Hello everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know where I am. My house finally dried out this past week and the mold remediation is done. However I know that mold spores never die, so am treating it at least two more times to keep it down as much as possible. I meet with a decorator tomorrow and hope to sign with a contractor this week. Then I will be on a waiting list for ?months to get started on putting the house back together. I know that it will never be the same, but at least I will have a house. After 40 some years the river decided to put water in my house and it had to flow backwards to do it, but it accomplished it's goal. I have learned that water is as bad as fire. I still do not know where my 2016 photos are. I thought that I picked up that hard drive, but have not found it yet. Actually I haven't found many things. I am still packing things out of the tops of closets and trying to get them into storage. It is a big job. Meanwhile I am meeting often with workers trying to decide who and what to use. Then I have to pick things like cabinets, flooring, colors, etc out. I think it will be June before I can start putting things back in my house. But I am not sure. I have not been able to tap in to see how things are going for you all because I am so tired when I come in at night. I will keep watching as often as possible. The Palooza looks pretty dim at this point. I miss you all and hope you are all doing well.

I have tried for a year and a half. How much time do you think it takes?

Give the Mac a bit more time. Once you get used to it, you'll never give Windows a second glance. If you're brave, learn a bit of Unix and tcsh to operate from the command line - now that's real power for you! I would have thought that LR would appear the same on Windows and Macs (never used LR on Windows so no personal experience there).

There are a lot of Mac people on this list who can help out with all things MacOS related. And if you're near an Apple Store take a few "intro to the Mac" classes. They will help get you up to speed very quickly.

I feel that way every time I turn mine on. I wish I had never changed. Nearly all my photos are on external hard drives. Because they were first used on a PC, the Mac will not allow me to use those hard drives. Pages is a poor program and messes up every document. Can't Apple make anything that will work with the rest of the world?

VERY FRUSTRATING!! My question is; I am finding that quit a few LR menus are not the same, even as they say they should be in the manual. LR does not work the same as did on Windows 7. (I am about to go back to windows and throw out this apple).

Am I do something wrong, or do I have a problem?

Thank you for any comments and help.

If you are used to a PC, no matter what, do not change to a Mac. Nothing you have is compatible with a Mac and it will drive you nuts. At least it has driven me nuts. I have thousands of photos on external hard drives. I can access them, but must save them to a Mac drive to because I can not save on the PC hard drives. Pages (the Mac word processor) is useless. Nobody can open it if you send it to someone else. The formatting on any Word document is lost. It is not nearly as good a Word. Mass confusion!!!
