Your kit lenses have you covered on the a6300. If you want a bigger zoom, just turn on the Clear Image Zoom. It can double your zoom. I recently found out about this tool and wish I had know about it during my African Safari.

With the Sony 24-240, on an a6000, you can set the camera to portrait panorama and get quite a good wide angle-like exposure

I’ve also had good results with the full frame Sony 24-240. It is a bit heavy, though, but quite sharp.

Heading up there ourselves, at about the same time. We signed up for a couple of small group photo tours, through Xanterra (morning and evening wildlife), the Park concessionaire. They offer a number of guided tours and hikes at the various Parks. Check them out

Hello Photogeneralist, should be:“Hoisted by my own petard”. Originated by Shakespeare in Hamlet. “For ‘‘tis the sport to have the engineer hoist with his own petard”

Some of the Sony cameras, a6000 series and others, have “Clear Image Zoom, which allows for up to 2x magnification, with very little loss of image quality. It is like having a 2x converter built in. So, your 137 becomes 270 and your 200 becomes 400.

Great shot! What time of year? Going there in early October.

I have been using the Sony 24-240 lense on my a6000. It is a full frame lense, but works very well on a crop sensor. Sharp. With the ClearImage Zoom and the crop effect, I get the equivalent reach of over 600 mm.

The camera compartment looks tight! Can you fit a DSLR with a medium size zoom lense in it?

I think that you better check. My understanding is that they only require it if you are arriving from a country with a risk of yellow fever. You are correct, Namimbia is not a yellow fever risk.

I recently bought the LowePro Hatchback 150 AW BP, specifically for day hikes. It fits a camera body with good size Lense, plus one or two other small lenses. It has several pockets for batteries, etc. Two side pockets for water bottle, tripod, etc. The top compartment can accommodate your jacket, first aid kit, snacks, etc. It has a waist and a chest strap. The photo compartment can be accessed by flipping the pack to the front, with the waist strap holding it in front of you for easy camera access. The camera pouch can be removed and you have a reasonably large day pack for whatever activities you want to do. It is quite compact, which is why I bought it. There are a couple of larger version (250 and i think 350). Look it up. I saw several videos on how to pack it. By the Way, you’ll be surprised about how many camera back packs there are. I did a lot of research. I concluded that, Lowepro makes good quality packs and, for under $60, you can’t go wrong.

Wifi on the a-6000 works just fine, once you figure it out. The biggest issue I have with this camera is dust on the sensor. It is so exposed that any time you change lenses, it is likely to grab some dust particle. I solved my problem by buying a Sony 24-240 mm Lense that I hardly ever have to change. Good little camera.

Best vantage point for pictures at Victoria Falls is from a helicopter. Expensive, but worth it. They offer two options: short ride over the falls (14 minutes); longer ride, which includes the river canyon (30minutes?).

I bought the Sony e-mount 24-240 Lens. It is designed for full frame cameras, but it works well with my a6000. It is quite versatile, sharp, and not too heavy. Since buying it, I no longer need to switch lenses and, thus, have been able to avoid the nagging problem of dust on the exposed sensor. The lens was about $850, I think.

I use a Sony A6000 and a Canon 70D cameras, set to Raw. My original file sizes are in the 20 mega pixel range. I will frequently upload my pictures from my cameras to my iPad, using the built in WiFi capabilities of each camera. I will, then, move some the pictures to Lightroom Mobile on the IPad. I have noticed that after moving the pictures to Lightroom Mobile and adjusting them, sometimes, but not always, cropping the photos, there will be duplicate photos, in the jpeg format and much smaller in size (1616x1080). Most of the time, the original larger picture will also be there, in its original Raw format. Can someone explain what is going on?
