For a all around single lense which one is best? I travel and don’t want to change lenses. Thanks in advance

I have just bought the A6300 and have ordered an adapter FOTODIX Pro Fusion to be able to use all the lenses I already have for my Canon gear. I have though in the last few years just been using the Tamron 16 to 300 lens in my travels as an all round lens and cant really fault it. I am hoping it works as well on the new camera but wont be able to tell you for another month or so when we get to the UK.

The New Tamron 16 to 400 lens sounds like a good purchase

I have a bunch of lenses for my A6000. I find that the Sony E 18-105mm f4.0 G OSS is the one I use 90% of the time whether travelling or at home. You might also consider the new 18-135mm which is 3 or 4 oz's lighter and 1/2" shorter. The kit 16-50mm is nice to have when you just want a set up you can carry in a jacket pocket, but the range is too short to rely on as a single lens.

My wife uses the a6300. Her two favorites are the Sony 18-105 f/4 previously mentioned and the Tamron 18-200 f/3.5-6.3.

For your A6500 I have to concur with repleo, I have the 18-135 OSS and use it about 90+% of the time, especially when traveling overseas...smaller, lighter and excellent pictures.

Just returned from China and only took the Sony 18-105 f/4. Best all around lens. Remember if you shoot jpg you can use the zoom feature of the a6500 and double the effective focal length.

I like the Tamron 18 - 200mm on my A6000.

I like the 18-200 Sony for all around and have not been disappointed. Clear Image Zoom works well also. So I have an 18-400 lens in a single package.

I have been expanding my shooting in nighttime and low-light street and cityscapes, and would like a wide, f/2.0 lens but right now they are cost prohibitive. Any ideas for under $300?

I agree the 18-105mm or the 18-135mm and us your clear-image zoom feature for more reach. I have a A6500 and the 18-105mm and love it for all-around travel use. (the 18-135mm was not out when I bought my A6500) Cheers

I have the Sony A 6500 camera and use the Sony E 3.5 - 6.3/ 18 200 OSS lens. I am very pleased with it. You can get good deals on the used lens market.

I have been using the Sony 24-240 lense on my a6000. It is a full frame lense, but works very well on a crop sensor. Sharp. With the ClearImage Zoom and the crop effect, I get the equivalent reach of over 600 mm.

18-105mm is the best choice for a single zoom lens. Zoom lenses are full of compromises. Lenses with greater zoom range will have lower image quality.
