Milky Way over crater lake.

In this attempt of tracking stars with my equatorial mount I ran into some difficulties. I tracked the image of the stars then began my foreground images, the moon was rising directly in front of my camera so I waited till astronomical twilight to capture the lake. This gave more color to the water though did not exactly match. But still looks good to me.
This can be a difficult spot to photograph at night.
Many night photogs shining lights everywhere.
The wind was gusting with small breaks.
It was 37 degrees.
And actually quite hazy do to fires already burning.
Still an epic experience for me.

Looks like Mount Mazama is erupting again! Great shot! BTW, you'd think other photogs would be more sensitive to adding light pollution!

Yes night photogs like to light paint everything, I usually attempt to use the moonlight.
Mount Manama must have been humongous!!
