Never been satisfied with lens extenders. Canon extenders for big lenses seem to be excellent those lenses are out of my affordability. I use what I have cropping in post processing can produce satisfying results.

I have one prime lens 100mm rest and zoom. Choose lens for what I am photographing. Using Canon R5 Raw post editing it does not matter to the eye. Chart and graph people can prove prim lens are better.

Future is here for phone cameras. Using a smartphone camera with its limitations results are excellent. You can post process with software from your camera various adjustments are there at your fingertips. Laws of physics comes in to play with pixel size. Larger camera sensors of DSL type cameras and ability to charge lenses produce superior results for larger prints. So all comes down to what kind of photography you want.

I used my phone camera frequently, for photos in its range for posting. Serious work I revert to big camera. Process phone photos with software on phone or email to my self to process on my computer

Looking back at cameras they didn’t have light meters in them, new cameras with built in light meters, new SLR with changeable lenses, then motors to advance film in the camera, then improvements to shutter began. Digital age brought end to SRL’s mirrorless cameras are replacing them now as time passes leading camera manufacturers will abandon production of SLR’s. The global shutter has been around for years not ready for still photography, will eventually be the standard shutter in future. With a photographer’s eye, a good lens that camera with no meter will take excellent photographs. A new car today drives so much better than one from 60’s but both get you from A to B. Just like cameras have done when they freeze a moment in time. With all the improvements to cameras they still just freeze that moment in time and nothing more. So global shutter will be the new standard shutter and this advance will pass unnoticed by the new photographers.

Had the use of darkroom in the 70’s learned a lot. Miss all the time and chemicals it took to create an excellent photograph but will never go back digital is far superior. Cost and small quantity of images makes no sense with film. Waist of time and money for results that are inferior to digital.
