I'm getting it at Sammys in NYC at less than $1000 - don't remember specifically, and, of course, Lightroom at no charge and the 3-year warranty. Glad to hear positives about it. I've always wanted a Leica. Actually this is the same model as one of the Panasonic digitals, but they threw in a few more goodies and one of the reviews stated it's better made. When I use a photo vest, then I can take both telephoto and wide angle, but it's just too much for me to carry otherwise. I'm doing a day bus trip to NYC in a few weeks - this should be perfect for that - walking around most of the day. Thanks and best wishes, Nancy B.

This is the situation I am in, from one of the Amazon commenters "Am in my mid 70's and unless there is a real need it is too heavy to cart my high end Canon with multiple lenses and a suitcase full of gear when this camera performs almost as well" I'm older than this person since I'm in my late 70s, and I agree which is why I was looking for a really good all-in-one digital. I also read about the flimsy switches, which was my concern; however, with a three-year warrantee, this should help if there is an issue. I'm not rough-handed with any of my equipment, so I shouldn't have an issue. Thanks for the link. Again, if anyone here has one, let me know your opinion - if you're happy with it. Best wishes, Nancy B.

Does anyone own one of these? I've read really good and really bad opinions on this. I'm looking for something above a point-and-shoot, but one that is all inclusive instead of the wide-angle and the telephoto lens which get to be heavy to carry around. It has a 3-year warranty and includes Lightroom.

Not to pour cold water on your parade - don't forget we've had some pretty substantial blizzards in March, although not usually this late in the year. However, the way this season is going, it wouldn't surprise me to have snow on Easter. My husband and I were out camping a number of years ago over Easter weekend, and we had to bail out quickly on Sunday because, yep, it was snowing heavily!

Just check on eBay to see what's going on with film cameras. I sold an Alpa 4b with the Macro Switar Lens a couple of years ago for $1200 - he wanted the lens, not necessarily the camera.

Great - found it and I have my LCD back again. I also have a Nikon D40X - same thing - this one doesn't have a lever that I could see. Thanks, Nancy B.

I feel really stupid asking this - I've checked and rechecked my manual and can't find it. I have a Nikon D5100 digital SLR and I selected the option to just use the viewfinder when taking a picture rather than have the LCD on - thus supposedly conserving the battery. I want to change it back so that I can use the LCD screen when composing my photo. Where or how do I do this? Thanks, Nancy B.

I've had great luck buying from tigerdirect.com - they have an ample supply of both desktops and laptops. They have both new and refurbished - I always go for the refurbished. Brand names such as Dell, Lenovo, HP, etc. I've bought all my external hard drives from them also. They do have the tablets and other small items and also printers, scanners and other goodies. I've had no problem with returns, either, on the few occasions when something has had to go back. They are based in Florida.

You're a gal after my own heart. My husband made the mistake of telling me re my camera purchases, if I could carry it, I could buy it! You wouldn't believe what I could carry!
Actually, it might be best if we kept our hiding and stealth secrets to ourselves so that the guys on this site won't become suspicious of their wives and give away their secrets!

I had me one of the Volkswagen vans - an orange one which I bought new. I loved it. Wish I still had it. Boy, what a great vehicle for photographic adventures!

Good Morning,
Thought it over and while printer sounds great, I think I'd best buy locally; i.e., Staples or Best Buy so that if something goes wrong with the printer, I can take it back. Thanks anyway. Best wishes, Nancy B.
