I love the lens. I purchased it with the D500 as a kit lens so payed a lot less. To me its worth it.

I was a Canon guy most of my life. Back in the film days, I started with the Canon A-1. At that time I couldn't afford Nikon and for some reason, I had no interest in Pentax or Minolta. I stayed with Canon into digital starting with the 10D then 20D, 40D, 50D and then 7D (all crop sensor cameras). I always had an inkling for a full frame camera but did not want to carry 2 bodies. Then Nikon put out the D800. That was the answer to fulfilling my wants. A full frame camera with a high enough resolution so my DX wants could be satisfied yet so were my full frame wants all in 1 camera, so I sold off all my Canon gear and went Nikon. The funny part of this story is that I later upgraded to the D810 and last year purchased a D500. I end up with 2 bodies which I didn't want years ago but I am now enjoying having those options. There are times I take just one or the other with me depending on what I am shooting that day but many times I have a wider lens on the D810 and a telephoto zoom on my D500. A different time in my life I guess but I am enjoying it which is I guess all that matters.
I am happy I made the switch to Nikon. It was worth it for me but still like Canon. Have even thought of Sony but not going there.

If you go into disk management and change the drive letter of the drive that is currently listed as G to something else, G will then be available for you to assign to the current H drive.

Especially stupid is he asked her because he knew he needed it and after she refused, used it anyway.

Gene51 gave some very good suggestions.
What you can do to rename the drive to E is first change the drive letters of the removable drive (that is using E right now) so that E is available and then change your drive letter to E.

Being a computer tech almost 34 years, I have seen more drives fail then all other computer problems. As mentioned above, you MUST keep multiple copies of your data.
I learned the hard way... years ago, I was trying to copy 2 folder of updates from one drive to another and accidentally clicked on sync so instead of just copying the changes, it started deleting all the other folder and their contents... by the time I realized and stopped it it was way too late. I was able to recover most if not all using recovery software but I had gotten over 16,000 files, with no names and folder structure was lost. It took a long LONG time to sort through them and recover them in some usable format. I used multiple programs to try going through the files. Trying to change names based on EXIF date/time which worked for some but not all. and manually going through and sorting them the best I could. There were multiple versions of many and of course some junk that was deleted stuff I did not even need or want. Learned the hard way...
I now keep 3 copies of all current data (2 years worth) and 2 copies of older files on 2 different external drives (1 a NAS and 1 a newer USB3 8TB HD).
Things get copied from my XQD or CF or CD cards using Lightroom import to my current HD. I then rename the folder and back it up to one of my external drives and then the 2nd. Only once that is done do I delete the photos from my card. Seems to work well.
BTW for my O/S drive I use Acronis True Image and have automatic weekly incremental backups done so I always can go back to wherever I need to in case of loss.

The big unfortunate thing is that some people fall for these things or they wouldn't waste their time sending these out.

Here is a link to 1 video that shows the shutter sound and compares it to the D750.
There are more availavle if you look for them.
The D500 does have a Q mode (quiet) which make it a tiny bit quieter/softer sound and also slower to take a picture

I have never heard of that software.
There is free software (which you can make a donation to the author) like Faststone Image Viewer.
It is really good software and allows a lot of adjustments.
Also most camera's come with their own software for editing images.
There is more expensive software but with much higher capabilities like Photoshop Elements and of course what a lot of people use, Lightroom/Photoshop which you can get for $10/mo USD. There is certainly a lot more available and I am sure you will get a lot of opinions here.

Sorry, you are right... I read it but it then floated out of my head...
What was the registry fix that worked but caused other icon problems?

I have Photoshop CC now but have used many version before this.
I have dragged and dropped into Photoshop.
As a computer technician, I suggest you try to go back to a previous restore point.
You do not lose any files or things you have downloaded. The only thing you will lose are any programs that were installed after the restore point you go back to and you can always go back to today as it creates a restore point before it makes any changes.
Since I do not know which version of Windows you are using, you can Click the Start menu and type "system restore". Select "System Restore" from the list of search results.
It will show the most recent restore point. If you need to see older ones tick the box that shows more restore points. If you can, Select one that is from before you noticed the problem and let it do its thing. It will reboot and after a while, once your Windows comes back up you should get a message saying it was successful. At that point try your drag and drop again. If it now works then great, you can just leave it like that. If it doesn't then you can try an older one or that is something else wrong like maybe something with the installation of your CS6 and it might pay to try and repair or re-install it.
Good luck

Sorry, but there is no detail. Everything is blurry when looking at the full size image. There is no EXIF data but it looks like your shutter speed was too slow so there is motion blur and a lot of noise since your ISO was high.
If you want to see good detail in a photo like this you should in the same example put your camera on a tripod and use a shutter release or self times. You could then also lower the shutter speed to use a lower ISO. Since there is no EXIF info again I have no idea what Aperture you used. You might be able to use a smaller Aperture as well to increase shutter speed and/or lower ISO.
When the picture is the size showing here, it does look good but unfortunately, not larger.

Going with a kit is a lot cheaper than buying the camera and then the lens(es).
Yes, there are better lenses but the kit lenses will still give you nice photos and when you are ready to move up, you can always sell them.
