How did you do that Rob? It looks really good!
Lots of time in Photoshop. It was very tedious but I think it paid off. Thank you....
Oops, it tried to post twice....
I had a simular issue. Here is what I did. It took awhile, but I think it was worth it. I could even do more with it if I wanted to.
Awesome stuff. Some of the best I have seen on here.
100% better. One more critique though. Next time try and get the subject square. The bottle is sitting at a slant in the image. It is almost always good to keep the "horizon" level, or in this case the beer bottle straight up and down. Your camera should have a "grid mode" on it, that way you will have straight lines in the viewfinder to use as reference. Keep it up, and don't ever be afraid to ask for help.
Yeah, there is no mistaking Mt. Hood....
The entire subject looks soft to me. Was this a hand held shot? What were the settings on the camera? Were you using a tripod?
I use to use my D90 for everything. It's a great camera until your need to use higher ISOs. The quality drops off quite quickly. The D7000 is much better for this, so I use it more than my D90 now days. But you can not beat the mighty D3 for the lower light stuff. It is just a beast to lug around.
